‘THE BUTTERFLY’ — The Latest Video From Violet

Bill Strobeck’s Violet imprint just dropped their first longish-form video since the inaugural Violet promo from last spring. “THE BUTTERFLY” is an Efron Danzig part (real name, for those who don’t know) intro’d by a montage from the rest of the team: Troy Gipson, Kyle Teh, Seven Strong, Auguste Bouznad, Patrick O’Mara and Kris Brown.

Yelled at the screen in shock when that Rodney Mullen-esque ender came out of nowhere — a Muni crowd pleaser very much in the mold of the kickflip front 5-0 line from Harry Bergenfield’s Down Bad video that made Efron a fan-favorite. Crazy Ass Paterson Skaters posted the recap from their second “Land or Slam” event, where they just mob to street spots throughout Paterson, New Jersey giving out cash + product for tricks. It has the freeform feel of a skate contest from a distant past, just done for the sake of doing it. That tre flip into the kinked bank downtown and the one-foot hill bomb were wild 😮

‘Much Needed After a Long’ — The Latest Video From Alex Greenberg

We now inhabit a different world than the one that debuted Noah the Brand’s first video in October 2020. That premiere was projected onto a makeshift white sheet pinned to the Tompkins fence, at a time when nobody could hang out indoors en masse. Alex Greenberg’s follow-up to Jolie Rouge is unbranded (that random dude in the comments asking what happened to the Noah skate team will remain perplexed), but feels like a continuation of that initial project.
