Re: our Wire Spot article from last week — in 2018, the Bmoreskate blog (shout out to blogs, man) had a dive into some old newspaper clippings about the past history of the spot, which we certainly didn’t dig deep enough back to find. “The Wire started life as the Eastern Burial Ground in 1807, then changed its name to the Glendy Cemetery to honor the Rev. John Glendy, founder of Baltimore’s Second Presbyterian Church. Its location was originally at the outer-most edges of Baltimore City.”
