It is safe to say that when a city’s most famous spot is The Wire Spot, and the people who have logged the most clips there still express frustration with it, you don’t have exactly the easiest metro area to produce a full-length video in. And yet, generation after generation, Baltimore continues to produce incredible skaters, incredible videos, and a vibrant scene that shares an ethos with places like Pittsburgh and Detroit where there is this almost artisan quality to every piece of the puzzle — from the rub-bricked ledges to the videographer’s persistence that everybody get something for the video.

Esteemed QS readers will be familiar with the Gang International think-tank from their deep coverage of the Pulaski scene, and troves of footage from office favorites like Bobby Worrest and Kevin Augustine.

Jeremy Knott and Gang’s latest video finds them sixty minutes north of D.C. — in Baltimore, digging for more crustaceous, under-seen spots than the wide granite cathedrals offered by the nation’s capital. (Anybody pulling up to Baltimore looking for a nice lil’ ledge with two ends on smooth grounds is liable to find themselves a bit disappointed.)

Glad she’s onboard, though was reading this Times profile of the woman trying to turn the space under the Brooklyn Bridge (Manhattan side) into a giant park and wondering — how has it taken this long to mention skaters? Because, you know. (They do, halfway in.)
