Not-Outdated — J.P. Blair’s “What Did You Expect?” Video

What Did You Expect is J.P. Blair‘s first full-length video since 2012’s seminal Outdated. (Let’s call “420 Vid” an interlude for the sake of the exercise.)

Was tempted to call Outdated a Jersey video, but given a cursory glimpse of the roster back then — this latest one might be …more Jersey?

Which is ironic given that the original impetus for J.P’s latest was at the urging of the Pennsylvanian trio found within: Matt Andersen, John Shanahan and Jake Baldini were the ones that got J.P’s efforts back in the noble pursuit of a full-length project. The Jersey end is held up by Jersey Dave (surprise!), Fred Gall with his most fully-realized part in years, Adrian Vega (the only repeat full part-er from Outdated besides Dave?), Dillon Constantine, and Josh Wilson — letting you know, yes this footy is current — look at the I-Path’s, buddy. Static and Deep Dish alumn Brett Weinstein rounds out the roster.

They take the Rust Belt Trap-ian eye of the aforementioned trio and zoom it out across the tri-state area toward cobblestone hips, lumps of Bondo barely the width of a board, visits to some of Max Palmer’s worst, and a Jersey City spot that was probably was a bit too rough around the edges back when Outdated was getting picture-locked.

Those premiere night Rolexes are much deserved. Can’t wait for J.P’s next one in 2039 ;)
