Golden Hour is a great, 19-minute New York scene video by Perry Scardigno, featuring a ton of “where is that spot?!” clips — assuming you can even think about skate spots right now. (Jk, K Bridge is a go at least.) Also has a sick Ricki Twohill part at the end.

“My dog was the one that originally found my cancer four years ago — she kept trying hit me in the nuts while we were playing and hit me really fucking good.” Ian Browning’s great “Rules of Skateboarding” series has formally moved from Village Psychic to Skate Bylines, and the newest installment is with TJ Rogers about the rules of publicly sharing personal things with fans of your skateboarding.

“I kind of want to skate for a brand because it’s like, ‘Okay, she has good clips!'” Free has an interview with Stella Aiha on the occasion of the new part that she dropped with Eetu Lilja.

Digging Through Atiba’s New York Archive

Back in 2021, when we did part two of the oral history behind all the skate photos featuring the Twin Towers, we got Atiba on the horn to talk through a few shots from ~1997. In doing the digging for those, he happened to uncover a small cache of unscanned New York photos he forgot about because they didn’t feel like much at the time, but obviously took on new meaning as the years went by and the world changed.

In the midst of Atiba’s monthslong media tour promoting his latest Vans collection, we visited him at his office to see just what else he had in the stash from New York. For a guy who got started working in skateboarding in San Diego in 1995, headed into what can only be described as a “golden age” for print media, we wanted to know what he saw, shot, and remembered from this city that was generally only a novelty in an era dominated by the west coast.

HEADLOCK is a new brand pushing the Atlanta skate scene, and Justin Hearn got behind the lens to make the inaugural edit of his crew for it, aptly titled “In A Headlock.”

W O W. Our friends at 4PLY ran all the data to quantify why Yuto Horigome is The One. “He doesn’t have a single “go-to” trick. He’s got the talent to ‘go-to’ all the tricks.”

Jenkem also hung out with Fred Gall to get the history of one of New Jersey’s longest running brands, Metal Skateboards.
