Casgrain Pain

There are a lot of banger recaps from Glory Challenge, but Naquan made the best one of all-around vibes.

Naquan also made a sick mini Amir Denis part. Smith at Cadman was lovely.

The summertime Tompkins edits have started to come in as the high-season winds down: 1)$$$seven” by [yes, third link in a row] Naquan Rollings, which includes a triumphant return-to-NY back tail by Coles Bailey on the most inventive T.F. obstacle of the New Asphalt Era. 2) Japanese homies Joetaro Saito + Aoto Yoroi doing some of the flowiest lines all throughout the park by Shaquille Waite.

A couple new Gino clips, Sully doing a psycho wallie at Police Plaza, and Victor Campillo + Mark Humienik ripping in a new all-New York Asics edit.

The return of Versace Plug in a new Supreme Berlin edit by Bill.

Kader put out another seven-minute vloggy edit by Tristan Warren, which includes a good bit of footy from New York, Syracuse, Paris + L.A. (In addition to a dope alternate angle of Chucky’s #viral July 4th moment.)

“I guess it’s that he is proof against the complacency that so many of us, most certainly myself, are liable to feel in this ever-confounding reality. ‘If shit’s good, why fuck with it?’ is a safe mantra for survival, but it puts a pretty low ceiling on the untapped potential in all of us.” Our friend Zach Baker wrote about Tyler Surrey for Free.

From rotting wood to rusty grates, our friends at Vague have a premiere of Max Tellefson’s part in the Grains collective’s new Tollway video, filmed all throughout the upper midwest. That one rusty-ass yellow cellar door sprouting from an asphalt lump in the middle of absolutely nowhere has to be a new level for this genre of video ;)

Wish there was more skating in this but oh well: Gustav Tonnessen and Mark Gonzalez kick around New York for an upcoming Adidas project, though much of the actual skating is just them messing around on the curb down by South Ferry.

Pool coping made out of melted down skate trucks wasn’t enough: they needed to make a big truck out of melted down trucks that they could grind with their not-melted trucks. “The skateboarding is not merely skateboarding. It is ritualized. A salutation to the act of skateboarding.”

Our Hamburg homies at the BUG crew just posted a reel of raw files from their most recent project, BUG Forever.

Quote of the Week 🗣
Inquisitive Gentleman The Morning After Glory Challenge: “Should we go on a mission today?”
Conor Neeson: “I can’t. I have to help my girlfriend bring the Satan’s Drano confessional booth back to Laval.”

Feel like in June, we heard September for the Small Banks (seemed a bit generous tbh, especially since there’s been no work going on over there), but now we’re hearing next summer for the final phase of the restoration. Will report any other updates.
