A Deadstock German Shepherd

Shout out to Twitter for tracking this one down. More skate photos with friends in the background please ♥

Interblend” is a New York / New Jersey montage by Tokyo-based filmer Rob Taro, who made the full-length Time Scan video from last year. Features a mini Central Park section in the middle. Eby’s ollie over the barrier into the rock is fucked.

A fun Twitter thread, which hones in on a #trend that we had not noticed until now: skaters whose parts are set to recent movie scores, some of them totally random. Cheers to Henry for the research.

#Skatevideohouse lives! “Parking Lot Music Video Installation 1” is a montage with some new faces at a very #current circuit of spots around the city.

Another addition to the “wish this was 4x as long”-pile: just under a minute of Kevin Bradley and Alice Coltrane, via Johnny Wilson.

“For this reason, any alternative headspace that can be conjured by a Palestinian, is a radical form of resistance.” Medium has a photo feature and article about the growing skate scene in Palestine.

Cafe Pick Me Up

Mega relevant to a certain segment of our readers and anyone who has appeared in a B.S.A. Boys video: the northern zone of McCarren Park adjacent to the bathrooms, known to many as “The Couch,” is slated to be renovated into a restaurant next year.

Marcus Pulvermacher made a fourteen-minute edit from summer 2019 that includes a ton of bro cam clips of Genny and Caleb. Fun vibe to start a 55-degree Monday in February…

Made Mistakes In ’98, But ’99 Will Be Better

Salomon Cardenas, Etienne Gagne + Jason Byoun share a part in the Frog video, Killer Skaters 2.

The first one-spot part of the decade: Sergio Rodas and Brian Douglas share a section entirely filmed at Scudder Plaza A.K.A. the Princeton University spot. It’s crazy how no matter what talk there is about the decline of plaza spots in the U.S., post-Love skateboarding on the east coast has coincided with a surge in footage from here, Empire State Plaza, Everson, etc. — all of which went largely under-covered in the two decades prior.

Blast Off

…aannddd we’re back.

The world isn’t off to the best start in 2020, so you’d be well advised to watch this uplifting video about two Afghan girls who moved to Berlin from a refugee camp, and completely fell in love with skateboarding there. Lovingly put together by our friends at Place.

When’s FedEx dropping their video?

“Back then it was all a blur.” Yo these Bobshirt interviews are all so special. The latest installment is with Rodney Torres and is loaded with nineties New York nostalgia and stories, e.g it pretty much mentions three decades worth of skate shops in the city, and harks back to a time when New York coverage was limited to a montage here and there every couple years in a bigger video. (Also #lol on this YouTube comment.)

The youth has good tre flips. “Practice” is a very rad homie video by Cesar Fuentes featuring a bunch of up and coming skaters from The Bronx.

YouWillSoon (!!!) chopped up a remix of all Andrew Reynolds’ 2019 Instagram footage.
