No Venmo in Canada G!

Congrats to Marcello Campanello for going pro for Max Allure last week 🏆 Came across this loosies comp on YouTube just after it went down. Also, run back our interview with Marcello from a year ago in case you missed it, and maybe there’s another lil’ surprise due on here soon ;)

ICYMI: The teaser for Supreme and Bill Strobeck’s new video, Play Dead, dropped on Friday.

DUPLEX 4 coming soon. This YouTube review of DUPLEX 3 should get you hyped.

Crazy Ass Paterson Skaters posted the recap from their second “Land or Slam” event, where they just mob to street spots throughout Paterson, New Jersey giving out cash + product for tricks. It has the freeform feel of a skate contest from a distant past, just done for the sake of doing it. That tre flip into the kinked bank downtown and the one-foot hill bomb were wild 😮

Must Believe in Spring

DREWWWWWWWWW. Photo by Max Hull.

Young legend Marcello Campanello is the latest to be profiled on Pocket‘s “Followed” series for a Queens x Tompkins day. Some of the crispest flip tricks in the business; that warm-up over the grate is crazy. That restaurant they hit at the end looks fire too 🔥

ICYMI: Darren Harper’s “Out There” is a must-watch, and a literal representation of the “skateboarding saved my life” axiom that we hear so much. And it is right on time given the uncertain future that Pulaski Park is facing. Some of those archive tricks they run back are still so nuts 🤯

Vega alert 🚨 Buggy Alert 🚨 J.P. Blair went to Spain with the Bronze boys. Sweeter than sangria out a box.

Nine minutes of Elijah Odom loosies!!!

‘Big Shout Out To The Empanada Lady’ — An Interview With Marcello Campanello

Flushing Meadows Park’s globe looms large in New York skateboarding. It is probably the second most recognizable New York spot next to the Banks.

Just like the eye-catching blue ground at the globe, it was hard to remember where I first noticed Marcello Campanello’s skating. His movements tempt me to use descriptors often left to non-skateboarding journalists: whirling, spinning, twisting, leaping. I noticed him in local projects, namely: Canal videos, and then saw him popping up in Diego Donival’s project Goodily. With the help of Instagram, I knew he was an Astoria Park staple, but I didn’t know much else. It wasn’t surprising, though, when he surfaced on Karl Watson’s Maxallure board brand. Now, designing graphics for Maxallure and with a stockpile of clips, is as good a time as any to find out more.

Zebra Week

The Quartersnacks Nike SB Dunk Low Pro will be available at skateshops in the U.S. + Europe on September 18. (Yes, the date got moved.) No, we will not be selling it on our webstore. We *will* have a few regular QS merch items that we did in conjunction with the shoe available soon. Photo by David Cabrera.

Stephen Ostrowski is pro for Glue! And has a new part! Always get so shook watching people skate that yellow wall rail thing at Long Island University because of how close your head is to the barbed wire. Fully yelled at the screen when Stephen ducked under it. Also includes a beast varial heel courtesy of Cooper and his shenanigans ♥ (P.S. The Ether section at Three Up Three Down is still office-favorite viewing.)

These Days & Times

The predictions were true. The quarantine has everyone inside making #content — this was one of the most extensive link lists for a Monday update in a while. How sustainable it is? Who knows. Boil the Ocean is already speculating on what will happen if we enter a COVID-19 induced footage drought, e.g. will Thrasher be forced to only post “Classics” videos like how ESPN plays old games during off-seasons.

Until then…
