Bags of Sand

Broadcasting live from the Lefrak City building ♬ If you haven’t listened to it yet, the Bronze 56k radio mixtape is incredible. The music is mostly time-tested hits from their videos (including a F.C.C-mandated run-back of “Dap You Up“), but the commercials are gold. Laughed out loud 10+ times on first listen.

Listen to Hjalte’s beautiful voice on the latest episode of The Bunt ♥ Stingwater also made a GROeTH remix as an accompaniment to the interview.

A Day Late — J.P. Blair’s ‘***420 Vid***’

While we were undergoing our own 420 2020 festivities yesterday, J.P. Blair released “***420 Vid***.” It includes a bunch of 2016-2019 footage that was on the periphery of Bronze projects from that time, cameos from the NJ Skateshop dudes, and a full part from Jacob Gottlieb at the end, featuring a revisitation of his #viral Tribeca moment from some time back ;)

The video should bring a joyful tear to the eye of anyone who holds a special place in their heart for J.P’s old VX edits. (Or any QS reader who has been with us long enough to remember the days when Kevin Tierney’s claims that J.P’s video was due out “next month” for four years comprised of 50% of the jokes on here ♥)

These Days & Times

The predictions were true. The quarantine has everyone inside making #content — this was one of the most extensive link lists for a Monday update in a while. How sustainable it is? Who knows. Boil the Ocean is already speculating on what will happen if we enter a COVID-19 induced footage drought, e.g. will Thrasher be forced to only post “Classics” videos like how ESPN plays old games during off-seasons.

Until then…

Threw the remaining bits of our fall 2019 release on sale in the webstore. Truthfully, it’s mostly beanies and smalls, but there are a few loose other sizes left in there. Figured now was a good time to clear this out as everyone adjusts to the slower pace of life while we wait for this shit to calm down — yes, skate shops are affected. We’ll be good though, just gotta ride it out and be smart. It’s not like we have another choice, yaknow? ♥ Everyone be clean, be safe, be nice and be patient. QS content resumes as usual, because you already know that fashion never sleeps :)

Skate videos used to be so cute and innocent.

All the Streets Are Silent: The Convergence of Hip-Hop and Skateboarding (1987-1997) is coming soon. Think about that Slam interview with Eli Gesner from last week, but wider in scope, and in documentary form. (Timely name, too!)
