Really know nothing about this edit, but enjoyed it a lot — maybe because editing a pandemic-era skate video to “World Hold On” is funny and perfect. “TFTI” is a fourteen-minute homie edit by Reilly Schlitt that looks like it was largely filmed during lockdown days, as all the Stroud, etc. footy is from when none of the courts had hoops. If you don’t have that whistle stuck in your head after hearing that song…idk, one day you will have to answer to the children of the sky ;)

It is hard to believe that it has been ~six years since the last full-length Johnny Wilson video. Horny got uploaded to Vimeo in January 2015 (Edit: Sure got uploaded to Vimeo six months later, though is now MIA.), and Johnny’s bi-weekly video blogs (a fixture of the skateboard internet during the first-half of the 2010s) ceased production. The ~~Horny~~ Sure alumni embarked on various solo projects, love interests, and professional skateboard careers — only to reunite today, on YouTube.

There is no shortage of evidence to conclude that the future has proven to be a colossal disappointment. Even the dystopias predicted by Hollywood for the better part of a century feel sexier than the actual calamities humans face today. We were promised alien invasions and flying cars; instead, we have a plague and can order a burrito to arrive at our door via a piece of glass.

Skateboarding’s future is also no stranger to sexy, doomsayer predictions.

Today In Rainy Quarantine Entertainment — Andrew Wilson’s ‘Scrap Video’

Extended time spent on our screens has lead to a collective reckoning with the footage we have compiled throughout the years. (Yesterday, I woke up to an iPhone notification informing me that I’d save an excess of 25 GB in storage by just deleting years-old conversations, which means any footage clear-out on this end has been postponed by months.)

Andrew Wilson, however, scrubbed his phone of video highlights for “Scrap Video,” which dates as far back as the 2016 Canada trip we took for the second QS Nike shoe + a brief period of time when you could openly suggest “Let’s go to Fat Kid Park” and not be laughed out of the room. In in the video, you’ll find specks of both 917 projects, Johnny’s “Skate Clip,” and even Dahlberg’s Cuba edit that made Nolan become a vegetarian.

You probably remember it from the 917 video, but the best part is when Nik does the double set ollie, and Johnny still has the push to catch to up with him even going downhill on soft wheels. Either that, or the cut that goes from Max Palmer to Lil’ Wayne.
