History’s three most important skaters.
The goat was on The Bunt last week 🐐 (The goat is Zered.)
Screamed at the screen on the Terminator ollie attempt. (27th + 1st for those whom “Terminator” might not mean anything.) Australia’s Hoddle Skateboards ripped through Toronto, Montreal and New York to bring home an exceptionally fun trip edit by Majick Templeton. Shaun Paul does the Mariano Mouse credits trick, the boys skate a ton of diamond-plate in New York rather than the obvious stuff, and is that the first Times Square trick since the pandemic footy deluge from there?
Skate Jawn interviewed our dog and future beekeeper, Brian Scherer. (Loosely-related reminder for everyone to read the 2018 New Yorker article about the guy in Red Hook who manufactured Maraschino cherries and what happened after the local honey turned red 🐝)
Skate Jawn also paid a visit to our other dog, Jasper Stieve, in his Brooklyn studio.
Obey started a skate team and uploaded their inaugural Eighty-Nine video last week. Includes a mostly New York part from Pero Simic + an insane closer part from Marley Humphrey with an immediate tre flip hall of fame entrant at the end.
Korahn shared this quick one with us from his New York trip^
“Takahiro Yamazaki, an academic from the University of Tokyo, describes it as a form of rewilding – think of skateboarders as beavers – by which introducing a specific species can have an outsized effect on the whole ecosystem.” Thom Callan-Riley wrote about Bordeaux and skate urbanism for The Observer. It’s an honor to be compared to one of the world’s greatest animals.
Just off the heels of the Etnies revamp this summer, DVS Shoes is back with Cons’ former team manager Lee Berman taking the reigns on the reboot.
Orchard capo Armin Bachman was on the Mostly Skateboarding podcast to talk about their Wishbone video + our correspondent (and Mostly co-host!) Jason From Frozen in Carbonite was on the Nowhere Fast podcast.
So happy that we suspended all fashion writing last summer 😵💫

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week 🏀 — P.O.T.W. is back :) Jokic behind the back for the corner three, naturally.
Quote of the Week 🗣 “These mushrooms are starting to work …but I ain’t trippin’.” — Blessed Gotti
Not a lot of bluesmen that dominated the 2000s/2010s have aged gracefully, but Lito certainly has. Can’t believe it took this long for him and Payroll to get on one together.
