We got word of this one via our homie Gabriel at Cybercafé in Lisbon. Obviously, much of the Portugal-related stuff we post is centered around … Cybercafé and Lisbon, but they wouldn’t be one of the planet’s finest skateshops if they didn’t have a pulse on what was going on outside of their immediate view.
Lourenço Ribeiro and his crew are based out of Espinho/Granja in the vicinity of Porto, Portugal’s second-largest city after Lisbon. (Every time I read/hear the word Porto, I remember Hjalte Bourdain’s famous travel advice: “It’s probably a better place to go with your girlfriend, but the four plazas they have are the best plazas.”)
In filming for “FUDAYBUS,” Ribeiro, editor Joao Von Hafe, Madu Teixeira, Simon Gerber and their Comunicantes crew made more frequent trips to the capital, embarked on a bit of outside travel, and generally did the things you need to do to get a young crew filming clips on proper street spots. There is ledgework, barges through beach crowds, a gorgeous elder statesman kickflip — and you can’t help but notice things seem a lil’ ~smoother~ outside of Lisbon, right? The result is an exciting glimpse into their world that widens the aperture of how we experience Portuguese skating from afar.
And of course: the best part in hearing “About The Money” in a 2026 skate edit is that it transports you back to the “All About The Money” summer of your own skate edit. Everything’s a touchpoint, but at least these fellas had the good sense to aggressively cut a 2014 T.I. out of their edit ;) Shit moves quick. Book that Portugal trip with your crew ❤️
