The city is likely proceeding with building the skatepark in Mount Prospect Park after a long battle (there is one final meeting left on April 9), but at a reduced scale, “from 44,000 square feet to 19,500 square feet” — as revealed at the latest town hall. Looks like a transition-heavy design with some street on the side. Can we start holding hearings about getting a Born Plaza in this city before we’re all dead?
“Columbus Circle?” “No!!!” Feel much better about the future of street skateboarding in this city after watching Luca Mayer’s “$100 Chill” episode: they play S.K.A.T.E. inside subway stations, bumrush spots inside Wall Street offices, and then he spends most of his hundo on buying Bar Pitti for the gang. (QS is anti-Bar Pitti, but for reasons unrelated to Luca’s generous gesture.)
The site of one of the historically worst ledges in New York, which met its demise in 2019, has turned into a 112-unit condo building that has generated over $1B in pre-sales.

Thought Hooters went bankrupt like five years ago (or did we just assume that once they got rid of the handrail on W. 56th?), but the Post story about the last one in New York closing got at least one memory across the QS tipline: “That’s the Hooter’s on the L.I.E. service road in Fresh Meadows next to the movie theater. [Ed. note: Near a legendary Rob Campbell noseblunt.] One time we went there after skating, and this regular came in and was taking pictures with all the girls. For some reason, he gave us his Instagram. He was a cop with a handle like ‘@robocop718.’ His entire Instagram was that Hooters.” — Slob.

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week 🏀 — “The most Josh Hart sequence ever.” The Sports Desk’s favorite basketball player for a reason.
Quote of the Week 🗣
Observant Gentleman: “It’s gonna be like 70 degrees next week.”
Dylgr: “I gotta trim my pubes.”

Hooters locations owned by the original ownership group will remain open. Legends Never Die.
The answer to the quote of the week made me giggle. Shoutout Dylgr.
