The city is likely proceeding with building the skatepark in Mount Prospect Park after a long battle (there is one final meeting left on April 9), but at a reduced scale, “from 44,000 square feet to 19,500 square feet” — as revealed at the latest town hall. Looks like a transition-heavy design with some street on the side. Can we start holding hearings about getting a Born Plaza in this city before we’re all dead?

“Columbus Circle?” “No!!!” Feel much better about the future of street skateboarding in this city after watching Luca Mayer’s “$100 Chill” episode: they play S.K.A.T.E. inside subway stations, bumrush spots inside Wall Street offices, and then he spends most of his hundo on buying Bar Pitti for the gang. HEADLOCK is a new brand pushing the Atlanta skate scene, and Justin Hearn got behind the lens to make the inaugural edit of his crew for it, aptly titled “In A Headlock.”

W O W. Our friends at 4PLY ran all the data to quantify why Yuto Horigome is The One. “He doesn’t have a single “go-to” trick. He’s got the talent to ‘go-to’ all the tricks.”

Tao Ström dropped a new Julius Rohrberg part for Hjalte Halberg and Anton Juul’s brand, Dancer. Lots of creative approaches to classic Copenhagen spots, in addition to some new ones. Includes cameos from Hjlate, Ville et al. That ender is some real galaxy brain shit. Also spotted a vintage QS tee ;)

Daniel Wheatley posted up the trailer for his upcoming video, Blanket. Tom Knox! Charlie Birch! Nick Michael! Josh Pall! And Mingus Gamble has to be one of the greatest skate names of all time.

As a more grassroots sidebar to “Real Street,” the X-Games is [are?] hosting a bracketed video competition between local shop crews. The first bracket match-up is Baltimore’s Vu Skateshop v.s. Boston’s Orchard Skateshop.
