Five Favorite Parts With Ish Cepeda

In the rollout to Ish’s “INERTIA” part from earlier this month, we got him on the line to run down some favorites for the first 2026 installment of Five Faves.

As usual, the request line is always open for anyone you want to see this year ;)

+++++++

Paul Rodriguez — Girl: Yeah Right! (2003)

P-Rod’s my favorite skater. I love all his parts — I love “Super Future” from when he first got on Plan B, too. I love that he skates every stance; being able to skate every stance is important. I try to learn everything I learn regular, switch, and I feel like we’re both OCD skaters.

It’s funny, we have the same birthday, and last year we celebrated together, it was dope. He gave me a tour of all the cool shit in his house. He has like signed Michael Jordan shoes and photos with Kobe.

Antuwan Dixon — Baker 3 (2005)

I’ve never seen nobody skate like that. It’s still so crazy to watch. He makes skating look so easy. There’s stuff in that shows his personality and who he is, the song, everything in it is fire. I feel like that tre flip at the beginning alone has been viewed billions of times. If the tre flip he does was a song, it’d be “Purple Rain” by Prince.

Felipe Gustavo — Digital: FYI (2009)

Felipe’s beast. I remember there’s a nollie flip crook on a little rail he does, and it looks like magic. When I saw this, I kind of knew how to skate, and I was learning nollie flip crooks. I remember wondering, “How the fuck did he get the board to go into crook like that?” It looked like sorcery. I watched it over and over.

Trevor Colden — Mystery: Color Theory (2010)

He’s one of the coldest skaters out. I know he’s been through hella shit, and I don’t know what happened, but the skate industry is tripping. I don’t know him that well, but I know he’s talked about it in interviews.

Everybody needs to give that boy his flowers because he inspired so many young kids. He was definitely one of my favorites going up. I wish bro the best because he’s hella talented.

Blake Carpenter — DAYLANDO (2012)

Daylando is a video him and T.J. Gaskill made. There’s a clip where he does a switch tre flip lipslide on this rail in the town where I grew up [Palm Bay, Florida.] There’s a B-roll clip of the sunset or whatever that reminds me of Florida so much. Whenever I watch that part, it reminds me of home. T.J. killed the edit. I love that part.

I’ve seen people skate the rail, but the trick he did was so ahead of his time. Blake is one of the goats in this shit.

I grew up skating with Tyson Peterson, and Bobby Bils, who I filmed my first video part with and new part that we’re doing, too. Then there was the Dern brothers, who were from Orlando, the artist 454 was from there too. Jamie Foy and Zion Wright were from like two hours away — we’d all see each other at skate events throughout Florida, so we are all super close.

By the time me, Bobby, Tyson and everyone were filming video parts, Blake was already out in California damn near about to be a pro skater. He popped off young, 16, 17. He gets his flowers, but quit playing with Blake. Nike needs to give him a shoe or something.

Honorable Mention: Theotis Beasley — Shake Junt: Chicken Bone Nowison (2013)

There’s a clip where he does a kickflip back 5-0, his hat kinda falls off, he fixes his hat, and does a fat back heel down this stair set. I think that’s my favorite clip ever. Theotis is someone I definitely looked up to and wanted to be just like.
