That Ain’t The Brodie That’s My Brodie

Alexis Lacroix (the 2019 Q.S.O.T.Y.) is the latest guest on The Bunt. The origin story behind the eponymous catch-phrase is as good as you think it is.

A new edition of Bronze 56k radio to help celebrate that stimmy.

Skate Jawn and Adidas came together for a new edit of the current Philly generation, which includes the first Jamal Smith sighting in a minute ♥

Old Spots, New Bondo, Same Friends

Is there any chance you haven’t seen Tenzin’s nollie bigspin heelflip yet? Top 3 Tompkins trick all-time, no hyperbole. Don’t even know what the other two are, just that this is definitely in there ♥

Skate Like A Girl is hosting a silent auction fundraiser that you should definitely support. Bid on everything from #hype sneakers to gear from local brands, with all proceeds going to a great cause.

Who thought an opener part to that Weeknd song from all the memes could hit this hard? Pete Spooner’s New York / Minneapolis / Los Angeles -based Various Artists video extols the synergy of working for an airline while making skate videos on the side, and is now playing up on Free in full. (They’re big fans of Zach Moore’s recent comedy work as well.) Ender part from Jeremy Murray is fire.

Fool’s Spring

Adrian Vega via Giovanni Reda. This photo really does justice to how gnar tricks on this bank are.

Zach Moore (director of last summer’s remix blockbuster, “Jake Johnson: The Movie“) is front-running for delivering 2021’s best laughs so far. A)The Ultimate Skate Songs Collection” envisions skate videos’ most iconic music in the format of a late-night TV commercial for a CD box set. The plot twist in this one is so brilliant. You had to skate it fast and without stopping because there was traffic, open businesses, pedestrians and security guards — who knew Keith would be pushing through at some point after 3 P.M. when school was out.” Thrasher has an incredible retrospective feature that recounts stories from many of Huf’s closest friends.

It’s Not Bro Time It’s Showtime

Photo via The Shady One

Everything is a YouTube link this week, so if you’re showing up here to get your read on, you’re better off taking your ass to the library ;)

Antics is a sick 18-minute New Jersey video by Hugh O’Hare, featuring a mix of homies from Branded and Travel Skateshops. Lots of time put in at the Newark Peach Ledges and Big Screen Plaza (still boarded off unchanged, btw.) Shout out to anyone grinding the edge of a glass pane. Shout out to the drop-in at Museum of Natural History (those security guards sure have had an interesting pandemic….) Shout out to Anthony Gordon’s part and front crook fakie.

It is *so hard* to show off your great skate hair in a winter edit. 80% of the footy in Josh Payner’s new winter video blog is in beanies, hoodies and gloves, so the skating itself is left to do the talking :) Also, these edits are awesome and inspiring. Here’s the first one.
