Must Believe in Spring

Young legend Marcello Campanello is the latest to be profiled on Pocket‘s “Followed” series for a Queens x Tompkins day. Some of the crispest flip tricks in the business; that warm-up over the grate is crazy. That restaurant they hit at the end looks fire too 🔥

ICYMI: Darren Harper’s “Out There” is a must-watch, and a literal representation of the “skateboarding saved my life” axiom that we hear so much. And it is right on time given the uncertain future that Pulaski Park is facing. Some of those archive tricks they run back are still so nuts 🤯

Vega alert 🚨 Buggy Alert 🚨 J.P. Blair went to Spain with the Bronze boys. Sweeter than sangria out a box.

Nine minutes of Elijah Odom loosies!!!

Procrastination Olympics

Boil the Ocean’s piece on Revolutions on Granite — the Ukrainian skate scene documentary that went live on Thrasher earlier this month — sums up the power of those 40 minutes in a way that every skateboard writer wishes they could.

Fake puke is expensive. Pryce gave a bunch of the backstories behind a lot of the best Alltimers boards for Solo Skate Mag. Yes, he met Marisa Tomei after they did that cruiser. Yes, she was hyped on it. Like the old proverb goes: “Nobody has a crush on anybody the way men born in the 80s have a crush on Marisa Tomei.”

Shopping carts and bicycle wheels are the new skatestopper. Hosea Peters has a new part entirely filmed in New York.

Throw some old King Louie shit on and watch these 15 minutes of Louie Lopez loosies.

Bigger Than Life Or Shred

Andre Beverley has a full new part out — in case you only caught the Columbus Park kickflip nosegrind from last week’s Top 10. Very sick to see him still crushing. Check his footy in Harry Corrigan’s OTBX2 video from last year, too.

All the Streets Are Silent is playing at Village East (12th and 2nd Avenue) through this Thursday. Get advance tickets here.

“They’re angry that anybody could make the graphics, but why are they angry about that?” Monster Children has an interview with Frog C.E.O, Chris Milic.

Stoked to hear that Ben Kadow is a NBA and TCM head :) Instead of a formal interview, he did more of a #longform “Things You’re Stoked On” piece (a la the Mostly Podcast’s closing segment) for Thrasher on the occasion of his new part. Ben Colen’s photo of that Central Park 5050 gap really does that feat extra justice.

Slouching Towards T.F.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions on the QS one-spot map. Going to try and keep it as up to date as possible. Funny how practically the same day we went live with it, there was a new part filmed entirely at the Dylan monument spot in Berlin, and one at the Herbis plaza in Osaka. (Portland sources seem to say that the new Silas part is filmed at two spots, thus failing to qualify for the metric of being able to pinpoint it to a single location.)

Thrasher dropped an extended IGTV raw edit of the T.J. footy from the last lil’ Instamix that came out alongside his lowtop shoe. Wow, obvs.

Ben Kadow has a new Hockey part filmed pretty much entirely in the city, on insane spots that seldom register as “spots” to us normies, e.g. the 5050 bench ollie at Central Park, the perpendicular drop in boardslide, et al.

All the Streets Are Silentthe documentary that was supposed to be about Zoo York’s Mixtape video before sprawling into a much bigger project — arrives in theaters this week.

The Price of Fireworks is Skyrocketing

Summer QS goods available in shops worldwide now. (Should be arriving in Europe / the U.K. throughout the week.) The QS webstore relaunches with summer items this Wednesday, June 23rd, at 11 A.M. E.S.T. Photo above via Labor Skateshop.

It’s incredible that when some people rally for the preservation of a place that inadvertently became an iconic skate spot, it could just get kept the same and furnished with flawless new ground — rather than the alternative, which is of course, them being told to go fuck themselves. ANYWHO, the Hélas caps company offers a who’s who of European ledgesmanship in its latest video filmed entirely at Lyon’s Hotel de Ville plaza.

There’s a solid batch of New York clips in Kevin White’s new “GLOBETROTTER” part. (Everyone get your time in on that Tribeca manny pad while that corner is still up for lease…) He’s also the latest subject of Pocket‘s always-enjoyable “Followed” series.
