Twenty Twenty Two

Happy New Year 🍾 Pleased to report that the latest round of QS merch is available at fine shops across the U.S. now. Canada + Australia probably this week. Japan, Europe + Korea definitely this week ❤️ The QS webstore will launch with the new line on Friday, January 7 @ 12 P.M. E.S.T. Thank you for the support, as always.

Such a pleasure watching Jahmal Williams skate. He has a solid batch of footy in the new Hopps x Labor edit, which also includes some third-eye-open spot choreography at D7 of all places.

New Josh Paynter video blog full of creative spot digging went up just before the new year. Love these a lot. 10/10.

Bump To Supply Chain

“I realized so many stories or moments that I’ve lived don’t have photos to accompany them. I wasn’t equipped, equipment-wise or mentally, to decide, ‘This moment is a photo,’ and I need to go out of my way to get it no matter what people think.” The Slam City Skates blog has an interview with French photographer, Benjamin Deberdt, about coming to New York to shoot photos of Keenan, Huf and the Cardona brothers in the nineties. (He shot the above Huf photo.)

Added Vu Skateshop’s “Lyric” video — filmed entirely at the Lyric Monument in Baltimore — to the QS One-Spot Part Map.

Rest in Peace Virgil ❤️

Skate Jawn has a feature on Jody’s Spot, the D.I.Y. spot built by Fred Gall in his New Jersey hometown, which the world first saw in his “Out There.” Please sign the petition to keep the spot from being destroyed by the city for no good reason.

Put Will Marshall’s line at the Museum — as seen in his new Dime part — in the Museum Line Hall of Fame. Kickflip front crook is insane too.

Best city for skate edits in 2021? Marseilles, no doubt. Here’s #anotherone from the Raskal dudes: “Hellos Dias.”

Four Billion Skaters

Unsolicited reminder for everybody to get reacquainted with the story of Fred Gall saving the Cambodian monks from a burning building. Shit deserves a 30 For 30.

Tristan Mershon, creator of the Fool’s Gold video from this past May, has a quick new check-in edit called “Almost There.” First time that garage on Crosby and Houston has popped up in an edit for a while ;) Classic spot from simpler times.

“We doin’ shit! We’ve always been doing shit, only now it’s being recognized.” Skateism has a very sick interview with Jaime Reyes.

Crave Case

Hopps x Quartersnacks items will be available on the QS webstore this Wednesday, October 6 at 11 A.M. E.S.T. Available at your local shop now ♥ Might be another something special dropping this week too ;)

It’s unreal how much footage John Shanahan gets. He’s got a new part out for Pangea Jeans. Heavy on the night footy, heavy on the midtown marble. Ender is nuts.

Love this new feature: Skate Jawn gives somebody a hundred-dollar bill and follows them around to see how they spend it. The first episode is with Ty Beall.
