Party Month

Holiday QS stuff arriving at U.S. shops now. Online soon. Europe + Asia + Canada should be arriving this week. Much love for the support as always 🎁

The quality + quantity of footage Antonio got in one day of skating downtown L.A. for an Insta clip promoting a Dunk collab does a decent job of capturing his magic. Kinda felt like a more lo-def edition of those Numbers edits they were dropping in the late 2010s.

Our friends at Classic Grip dropped a new edit: “Basgrain 700k.”

Thrasher posted their photo feature from Supreme’s Play Dead video online for all those who didn’t catch the print issue, with captions from Ben Kadow. “This concludes bump-to-can skating.”

Pro skater / hockey player / tennis player / jump roper Gino Iannucci is the latest subject of Thrasher‘s “Out There” series.

Pat Hoblin dropped a part with Place filmed in New York over the course of five days, full of cutty spots and cramped spaces.

No Venmo in Canada G!

Congrats to Marcello Campanello for going pro for Max Allure last week 🏆 Came across this loosies comp on YouTube just after it went down. Also, run back our interview with Marcello from a year ago in case you missed it, and maybe there’s another lil’ surprise due on here soon ;)

ICYMI: The teaser for Supreme and Bill Strobeck’s new video, Play Dead, dropped on Friday.

DUPLEX 4 coming soon. This YouTube review of DUPLEX 3 should get you hyped.

Crazy Ass Paterson Skaters posted the recap from their second “Land or Slam” event, where they just mob to street spots throughout Paterson, New Jersey giving out cash + product for tricks. It has the freeform feel of a skate contest from a distant past, just done for the sake of doing it. That tre flip into the kinked bank downtown and the one-foot hill bomb were wild 😮

R.I.P. iTunes

Our office of M.I.T. statisticians is busy tallying up the entries each day — so be sure to vote in our Readers Survey about the best parts and videos of the 2010s. Voting ends next Wednesday.

Sometimes the full-length videos on Thrasher get overlooked when you’re not willing to commit to a 40-minute viewing with your morning coffee (…and then you forget about them because ten new things have come out by the next time you look), but you should REALLY watch Deep Fried’s Undercooked video if you have yet to do so. It’s mainly in S.F, but has a solid bit of New York footage, in which they somehow managed to skate those black marble ledges in Times Square A LOT. You’ll recognize tons of faces from GX videos, but Deep Fried is obvs a bit of a different vibe than those projects. And that first dude (Dustin Partridge) has one of the best feel-good parts of 2019.

i-D magazine put together a 20-minute, Epicly Later’d-esque mini doc about Tyshawn’s ascent to S.O.T.Y.

Day Poker

We really blew it on missing this one in the 2017 color coordination piece. Iconic tho.

Here’s an eight-minute recap of the Hardies event at Blue Park this past Friday, which includes the best angle of Tyshawn’s kickflip over the table longways thus far.

The Man Who Films spent a lot of time in Rockaway this past summer and made a fifteen-minute video entitled “Beach Genius.” Everyone knows that Rockaway isn’t the most abundant part of the city for spots, so shout out to those guys for managing to avoid all the skateparks in all but one clip. Includes a mini Phil Rodriguez section where he somehow turns one of those blue bus shelters into an actual bank. And it’s also perhaps the first time in human history that there’s been a transition from Nicki Minaj to …MF Doom. Good vibe the whole way through, and the right amount of ~different~ ♥
