Fear & Loathing In The Financial District

The Beacon crew has an eight-minute snapshot of the Summer at Tompkins 2k24.

Juan Reyna and his crew have a new 20-minute video out called SMOOCH, which is entirely filmed in New York. Always impressed that the E. 9th Street triangle continued to live on as a functional spot despite the reconstruction that made it fifty times worse.

Jerry Fowler — a late 90s/early 2000s pro who was ahead of the curve on multiple waves of ledge skating — filmed a selfie part for Orchard, his hometown shop in Boston.

Baltimore Report — Gang International’s ‘CMON YO’ Video

Esteemed QS readers will be familiar with the Gang International think-tank from their deep coverage of the Pulaski scene, and troves of footage from office favorites like Bobby Worrest and Kevin Augustine.

Jeremy Knott and Gang’s latest video finds them sixty minutes north of D.C. — in Baltimore, digging for more crustaceous, under-seen spots than the wide granite cathedrals offered by the nation’s capital. (Anybody pulling up to Baltimore looking for a nice lil’ ledge with two ends on smooth grounds is liable to find themselves a bit disappointed.)

Weekend Viewing — Gang International’s ‘MOEFONGO’ Video

The first skateboarders who crystalized the concept of a “skate trip” must have known they stumbled onto gold. The hack of all hacks. Imagine a crew of friends bound together by playing basketball telling their girlfriends, boyfriends, spouses and bosses that they’re hopping on a plane to play basketball on this different court they reallllly wanna play on. How’s that gonna go?

But a crew of skateboarders?!

“Baby, it’s a SKATE TRIP!

Imagine that same hypothetical crew of ballin’ ass friends coming back with highlights from their games filmed on a camera released in 1995 and edited to Gloria Estefan as justification for their time off?

But skaters? It seems that society has given us infinite leeway in that regard, provided that we come back with proof in the form on an edit.

“That could have been me.” The Guardian spoke to several Black skateboarders — including our dear friend Aaron Wiggs, along with Harold Hunter Foundation chair + architect of The Black List, Patrick Kigongo — about their experiences in the shadow of Tyre Nichols’ murder at the hands of police.

“Yeah! At Glendale High!” Farran Golding had Nelly Morville talk over her Paymaster part about how the Limosine connection came to be + filming for their inaugural video.

Columbus Circle continues to enjoy its reign as the spot of the winter: Christian Kerr just dropped an edit with a days’ worth of Columbus footage, and yes, you get to see Gabe Tennen shred in it! It’s a foregone conclusion someone is going to drop a one-spot part from there by May, right?

It’s A D.C. & Baltimore Thing — Gang International’s ‘With All Due’ Video

Gang International — the D.C-based outfit responsible for 2019’s “Facades” and a lot of your favorite Bobby Worrest footage over the years — has a new one out today. Light on the Bobby clips this round, but heavy on pretty much everything else. The video weaves from Pulaski, through Baltimore’s notoriously unforgiving crust, and back to Pulaski for ender parts from Mikey Payne and Kevin Augustine (that switch flip back tail made me rethink what I already knew about his stance for a few seconds…)
