Came To Majorca For Nothing

Man, 8:15 might be long for a trip edit in our era of torched attention spans — but, hear me out — the majority of the crew from the Sicily trip spent the past two years cooped up stateside. And, AND, AND — the first time we made it out to Europe, Majorca was kind enough to bless us with no rain for ten days straight… we came back with a fuckin’ 30+ minute raw timeline 😲

Also, Justin and Nick went pro since that last trip, and pros stack 😈

Some of that 30+ minutes is chilling with horses, some of it was goofing around in an out-of-season water park, and all of it was at spots that Brady had been to throughout his ten times (seriously, ten) of visiting Majorca since the Blueprint days. Wrote a more extensive thing about it in the current issue of Free, which they’ll put online eventually ;)

Wish It Were Sunday

Here is a rundown of skate spots located at landmarks named after Martin Luther King Jr. — though the most famous is the ledge spot in Miami and that got omitted. (Also! The benches have been knobbed for a decade-plus, but MLK High School on 66th and Amsterdam has the janky runway 13 that got tre flip’d in The HSS Video.)

“We’re going to ConEd.”
“Nah, I’m good.”

👆 This actually sounds like 90% of the conversations ever had about Con-Ed Banks. Congrats to Max Palmer for his Best Special Effects Oscar nomination, and to Max Hull for his Best Director nod!

Knowing that that the Lotties video featuring Nick Michel’s breakthrough part was due out any day — and that Nick would soon be fielding offers from SpaceX, the Golden State Warriors and Goldman Sachs — Chris Milic, the eclectic C.E.O. of Frog Skateboards, had to act fast. The window to remind his star teamrider about skateboarding’s humble joys was closing, as he would soon be speeding down the Pacific Coast Highway in a Lamborghini Countach, on the way to his first billion.

Any Skate Perception alumni read QS? Ty Evans and some other camera nerds created a microphone that can be plugged into modern cameras to record sound that mimics the audio from the VX1000. 300 bucks and still only available for pre-order. Always fun to see people take New York skate filmmaking in a direction beyond just straight up skate clips. “{SLING]” is a short film directed by M.Fig.

No matter the decade, people are gonna keep ollieing off that slanted grey wall on Water Street. Geeked is a full-length video by Bernie Leonor that looks like it’s mostly filmed on a GoPro, all throughout the city.

This dude’s organs probably began to disintegrate as soon as he walked out, because I can’t imagine how bad the curse you get put under for stealing a cat from a bodega is. No wonder he returned it.

Danny Brady for Lottie’s Skateshop Part

Fresh off realizing that he never ever has to skate London street spots for the rest of his life now that Palasonic is behind him, Palace team-manager-that’s-also-one-of-the-best-people-on-the-team, Danny Brady, hit the sunny slopes of Los Angeles to film a short and sweet part for our dear friend Mike Gigliotti’s skate shop.

Though the part continues Brady’s career-long allegiance to skating anything that’s an embankment and difficult, it may perhaps be his first-ever outing that doesn’t feature a single flip trick — and lord knows that guy likes to flip his board out of a bluntslide ;) Though the black cat he dodges may have other plans, we wish him the absolute best in this simplified arc of an already illustrious British skateboard career.
