A wild ender on Pyramid Ledges, Tribeca street crossing lines, and newfound FedEx choreography in Jasper Stieve’s incredible new “Visitors” part for Picture Show. Thought it was gonna be the Dua Lipa version of that song for half a sec 😝
“It all started because most of the tricks I wanted to film, no filmer got too excited about filming them; the level was not high enough and some tricks didn’t make much sense.” Didn’t see this get posted around nearly as much as it should be: Our boy Ruben Spelta has a new, mostly self-filmed, vignetted, and very awesome part for Magenta that was inspired by Krooked’s Gnar Gnar video.
Threw the remaining bits of our fall 2019 release on sale in the webstore. Truthfully, it’s mostly beanies and smalls, but there are a few loose other sizes left in there. Figured now was a good time to clear this out as everyone adjusts to the slower pace of life while we wait for this shit to calm down — yes, skate shops are affected. We’ll be good though, just gotta ride it out and be smart. It’s not like we have another choice, yaknow? ♥ Everyone be clean, be safe, be nice and be patient. QS content resumes as usual, because you already know that fashion never sleeps :)
All the Streets Are Silent: The Convergence of Hip-Hop and Skateboarding (1987-1997)is coming soon. Think about that Slam interview with Eli Gesner from last week, but wider in scope, and in documentary form. (Timely name, too!)
“I’m not sure if it is the fact that they are Nordic, but more the idea that they are more socialist and less capitalist. The UK has monetised the idea of public space, especially in the centres of cities, but the Nordic countries are less like this.” …the story of how a breed of skateable architecture initially began and London, and has since been all but phased out only to have Scandinavian countries carry the torch :(
Dwindle’s official statement on the demise of Cliché. Just as Blueprint introduced a generation of Americans to British skateboarding, Cliché was just as pivotal — along with probably the Flip videos — in bringing greater European skateboarding at large to our side of the Atlantic. Thanks for everything guys.
2016 has been a rough year on humanity, but at least we found the 2014 Rich Homie Quan buried in Skooly from Rich Kids’ new solo tape, Gucci got his first #1 record, and we have Future’s personal assistant fan fiction. Shout the fuck out to Do or Die.
