The Return of Pryce “The Skater” Holmes In Classic Griptape’s Salmon of the Year Video

Like the ancient French Canadian proverb goes, “Impossible is only a skate trick.” Chuck and Classic Grip’s team of scientists did the impossible and actually managed to make the waning days of 2021 — when everyone else was spiraling from their March 2020 PTSD — look like a good time.

This one is a lil’ late New Year edit from Classic Griptape, featuring a grip to Stafhon Boca and Will Marshall appearances, plus …honestly cannot believe I’m about to type this… the return of Pryce Holmes footage to the QS front page. Starting to cry of joy now. Have a good one 🥲

Classic Griptape’s B Team Video

It is easy to get wrapped up in the distractions of skateboarding’s Oscars season, so much that we forget some of our colleagues are working towards earning actual Oscars. One such filmmaker is griptape magnate Charles Rivard, who after an initial foray with documentary filmmaking last year, has proceeded to throw his efforts towards winning the Academy’s coveted statuette.

Classic Griptape Productions’ “B TEAM VIDEO” is a spellbinding masterwork of freight hopping, on-the-fly hot chicken sandwiches, faltered Stanley Cup dreams, and ramshackle skateboarding in the parking lot of a Canadian Tire. Features appearances from Conor Kneeson, Ian Clelland, Zander Mitchell, Bob LaSalle, Bob LaSalle, Bob LaSalle, and Bob LaSalle.

There’s no way you haven’t seen the new Mark Suciu part where the entire second half is him going off in New York, right? Five-trick line at Reggaeton with a nollie cab noseblunt, the front 3 switch back lip at JFK, etc. Wow.

Peepin Out The Window

Caleb’s pro! Photo via Genesis Evans. Caleb’s Bunt (from February 2020) is really good, btw.

“Couple manuals, couple flatground.” Imagine skating for 34 years and still being this fucking good. Pocket‘s latest “Followed” episode is with the goat Daniel Lebron. They really got the pacing of life thing figured out in Spain. Big love to the Mexican families in L.A. ♥

The Duplex dudes out of Florida have low-key been putting out some of the best independently-released, no media-outlet-backed videos of 2021. “Five-Six-One,” their latest, is absolutely no exception. That Leap of Faith clip over the lady is so wild, plus Jake Sanso goes off like usual. Peep their earlier releases: “Sk8 Wing” from May + “Duplex 2” from January.
