Like the ancient French Canadian proverb goes, “Impossible is only a skate trick.” Chuck and Classic Grip’s team of scientists did the impossible and actually managed to make the waning days of 2021 — when everyone else was spiraling from their March 2020 PTSD — look like a good time.

It is easy to get wrapped up in the distractions of skateboarding’s Oscars season, so much that we forget some of our colleagues are working towards earning actual Oscars. One such filmmaker is griptape magnate Charles Rivard, who after an initial foray with documentary filmmaking last year, has proceeded to throw his efforts towards winning the Academy’s coveted statuette.

Classic Griptape Productions’ “B TEAM VIDEO” is a spellbinding masterwork of freight hopping, on-the-fly hot chicken sandwiches, faltered Stanley Cup dreams, and ramshackle skateboarding in the parking lot of a Canadian Tire.
