Orchard Skateshop Presents: ‘The Trail’

“The Trail” has — through no shortage of hard-wrung effort, we can be sure — accomplished the impossible.

Lee Madden and Orchard’s roster of mainstays (Sean Evans, Ben Tenner, Myles Underwood and Brian Reid) have made a Boston skate video with no Eggs footage. No skate scene is without a riptide of a spot or two, but short of maybe Pulaski’s hold on D.C. skateboarders, Eggs’ magnetism is unbridled on the east coast.

All jokes aside though, “The Trail” is a follow-up to “EGG,” the all-Eggs video that this roster dropped this time two years ago, effectively purging their stockpile of footage from New England’s most famous skate spot, so that they could go ahead and churn out lines on Boston’s brick-and-granite side streets. The entire video was filmed in Boston proper, without taking a refuge for less traversed terrain out in the city’s suburbs. Filming and edit by VX Lee Madden, with 16mm by Vito Ramirez.

PTSD

Via Pat Stiener

Wait, so Ben Chadourne was Skater of the Year all along? Knew it! Sorry, Keith (and Mark.)

They began demolition on the East River Park Amphitheater last week :( Alligator Ledge is blocked off, but you know, it’s Alligator Ledge 🐊

Something …not good seems to be afoot at Blue Park.

A wild ender on Pyramid Ledges, Tribeca street crossing lines, and newfound FedEx choreography in Jasper Stieve’s incredible new “Visitors” part for Picture Show. Thought it was gonna be the Dua Lipa version of that song for half a sec 😝

The Broth boys out of New Orleans have a new edit out called “Haunted,” with an ender part from Philly Santosuosso.

Hit You Off Management Presents… ‘Museum of Sex’

When the city began to shut down last spring — before anybody knew wtf was about to happen — skateboarders all had the same thought, and they all wound up at Big Screen Plaza.

Soon, the hotel decided “Fuck this,” boarded the entire park off, and left it like that to this day.

Skateboard endeavors moved northward towards CBS, which was heavily featured in John’s Vid (a video that simultaneously feels like it came out three months ago and three years ago), until that spot got knobbed.

It turns out that the real party was at the Museum all along — a spot that 4Ply learned was the most frequent #QSTOP10-featured New York spot in 2020. Considering there has been a generation (two?) of skateboarders who have not experienced a period of the Museum being a go, it’s no wonder everyone flocked there to take advantage of the glitch.

Paul Young logged some heavy hours there this past spring and summer, and came back with this edit featuring Mark Humienik, Joe Russo, Nick Ferro, Vin Perso, Joseph Delgado, German Nieves, Ben Tenner, Myles Underwood, Dana Ericson and Dick Rizzo.

F.T.I. Presents: ‘CLUB DRAGON’

Some of you might remember the “EGG” edit that graced the homepage of this website back in November of last year, which was an Orchard Skateshop production showcasing the new generation of talent coming of age at Boston’s premier ledge spot.

“Club Dragon” is the latest from that crew — except instead of a one-spot outing, the tricks honed at Eggs also make their way to an ensemble of New York City ledge spots and greater Boston locations that have become increasingly a go in the COVID age of lower security.

The video is edited by Myles Underwood, who just launched a Fuck This Industry webstore to commemorate the new project / brand / whatever they decide to turn it into ♥

Stop right now, don’t comment on it, go watch something else on YouTube

Features: Myles Underwood, Dana Ericson, Brian Reid, Sean Evans, Ismael Diallo, Ben Tenner, Armin Bachman, Luca Ettore and Dutchy.

Filmed by: Kevin Madden, J.P. Blair, Paul Young and Mikey Mazzarese.
