QS B.F.F. Zered Bassett was on the Angel & Z podcast last week. There’s a bit of graffiti talk at the start, but it gets into skating about ten minutes in. A lot of wisdom and honesty from one of the first few to truly do it at that level on the east coast. Also, the Greece story is insane.

But that doesn’t dampen his impulse to keep building these spaces.” New York magazine’s Curbed publication profiled Pat Smith, Jerry Mraz, and the D.I.Y. skatepark scene in New York City, with Mosquito Beach as the focal point. (Apparently, a “sewage bomb” was unleashed on Newtown Creek following the storm last Wednesday, so it should be an interesting situation over there for a bit…)

Jan Maarten Sneep has firmly ascended to that top-tier list of skate video auteurs who incite an immediate click whenever something new drops. The latest montage for Vans’ Dutch team is full of yell-at-the-screen-creative skateboarding, and contains the meticulous editing that comes with all Sneep productions.

The trailer for Jeremy Elkin’s All the Streets Are Silent — a film idea that once got floated around as a documentary about the creation of Zoo York’s Mixtape video before unraveling into a much larger narrative — is now live. Anybody whose interests line up with the things discussed on this website over the years (rap, skating midtown twenty deep, #clubbing) should have reason to be excited that the wait is over :)
