You Out Of Bounds, We Touching Down Like Julio

Rest in Peace Young Scooter 💔

“The temperature in Central Park plummeted by 26 degrees within a single hour on Saturday afternoon.” Let this be a reminder to strategize when your group text is all horny to skate in t-shirts on the next 80-degree morning. Bros were running into H&M to buy thermals at 5 P.M.

The Bronze boys are back :) First new vid since November 2023! “***POST NUT CLARITY***” has a montage from the squad, a great lil’ Jordan Trahan section, a nollie hardflip that seemingly defies physics, and a full Grady Smith [!] part at the end.

Talkin’ To Me” is the new edit from Jack Held and his crew. Filming Courthouse from above really does wonders at showing how monstrous of a spot it truly is. Almost didn’t recognize it in the first few seconds of the trick. Manhattan Bridge drop-in was insane too, and shout out to that dude’s speed control at Three Up Three Down.

Three more single-part uploads from the last Paul Young sure shot: Dick Rizzo + Joe Russo + Aaron Herrington.

Jonny Goupil’s part in Taryn Ward’s Rochester-based Tipping Points video is crazy good. Vid dropped last year, but that part is uploaded as a single. Fort Greene Park trick at the opener should sell you ;)

Four minutes of unseen Pepe Martinez footage from summer 1993 + All of John Cardiel’s 411VM appearances.

“When you have ten bucks in American ones it feels fake, it’s just like paper.” Una Farrar talks high praise to the Star Team Shop, gas station beanies, cee-lo champs and skating in glasses with Monster Children.

Village Psychic has a premiere of a hilly New Jersey part from Garrett Boozer for our friends at Travel Skateshop. Filmed and edited by Matty Hilzenrath.

Ian Ostrowski made a six-minute bro cam edit from a week-long trip to Macau.

Loosies Corner 🚬 Four minutes of Dylan Jaeb loosies. Feels like the big set across from Popeye’s Ledge is destined for a visit from Mr. Jaeb this summer.

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week 🏀 — When the announcer starts screaming “ELIZABETH I’M COMING BABY!” at a game-winning shot… it can only be one thing: Josh Giddey’s probably Play of the Year from half-court to steal it from the Lakers in 3.3 seconds.

Quote of the Week 🗣
David Cabrera: “Are non-alcoholic beers cheaper than regular ones?”
Abstainer: “Actually, they’re sometimes more expensive.”
David Cabrera: “Damn, so you can only be sober if you’re rich.”

A day-one QS board member has a story about visiting a friend who DJ’d a gamut of bottle service clubs we had no business being in throughout the 2010s. (Shout out Ross.)

This board member happened to come in behind Wale and his entourage. Those guys went straight to the DJ booth to not-so-subtly suggest that he play some Wale before heading to their table.

Behind them, came this QS board member, to say hello, probably get some drink tickets, and to ask, “Hey, can you play Young Scooter ‘Colombia?'” (Yes, this had to have been like early 2013 when “Colombia” was the quintessential either “I listen to it 70x a day” or “wtf is this” room-divider, a position then most recently held by Future’s “Tony Montana.”) Naturally, our DJ friend’s response was something like, “This isn’t really the type of place where that song works, but I could play the chorus for like 30 seconds for you.” As soon as the horns of “Colombia” came on — before the Wale requests, mind you — someone spilled a drink on our DJ friend’s set-up, glitching something that then lead to “Colombia” getting stuck on repeat while he did damage control on his equipment.

It took him a few minutes to re-wire some things and salvage his gear for the night, but before that could happen, Wale’s crew all stormed out of the club.

Wale and Scooter were probably actually friends, but always found this story really funny.

Rest in Peace Young Scooter ❤️
