Better Extremely Late Than Never — Frozen in Carbonite Presents: Song of the Summer x Video Part of the Summer 2024

📝 Words by Frozen in Carbonite

As you might have read on this platform, travel is huge these days. Along these lines, this summer traveled hard as fuck. I drove to Myrtle Beach not once, but twice – shoutout Kenny Powers. I vibed out at the Outer Banks for a week. And most importantly, I bookended summer 2024 with two trips to New York [Fuckin’] City. The second, you can read about here. The first one was my annual sober-versary trip. When booking the hotel, I made sure to get a place with one of those rooftop pools. I mean, you never know – east coast weather is crazy [like]; in early April, it could be 85 or a blizzard might attack the city.

There is no middle ground.

‘WHO SAID WHAT?’ — The Latest Video From Milan’s Rat Ratz Crew

Approximately 5 billion crew edits have passed through the QS front page over the years. Some crews stick together while many don’t; others splinter off, morphing into hybrids with other crews. The first Rat Ratz video to catch the eye of the QS newsroom was in early 2020. In 2024, their crew is grown up and perhaps more tight-knit than ever, spreading their wings beyond the Milan plaza for which they have been waving the flag since they were kids — and into the plazas of Paris, London and New York. Everyone’s flick carries more loft, everyone’s pop has manned-up, and the technicality of the tricks they hold over the grate ledge on their home court has compounded tenfold. Imagine what Rat Ratz 10 will be like!

Features Niko Giovannoni, Zuma, Rachid, Plako, Korahn Gayle, with full closing parts from Nils Matijas and Vince Palmer. Filmed & edited by Brisquit. Supported by Nike SB.

“I do remember chatting to him when he was pranging out about having to switch flip the London Bridge stairs, that’s quite funny. He was pranging out the night before, I just remember thinking you don’t actually have to do this.” Lev Tanju nerded out over his favorite pieces of U.K. skate lore for Slam City Skates’ “Visuals” series.

You gonna buy the $990 Celine skateboard?

Quit Sinnin” is a 15-minute New York video by Stephan Signh, with a bit of S.F. towards the end. Lots of spot inspo for warmer days :)

“It also is a return to form for Mike Carroll’s voiceovering, the years seeming to have slightly weathered his sound but his noun and verb and adjective selection still in top form.” Boil the Ocean weighs in on the Neils Bennett part. Favorite New York trick in that was the switch 5050 into the long steps on Riverside Drive.
