Stellar Regions

This deserved its own post but dropped on a travel day: 10/10 style-out on that opening switch ollie, they got …graced with enough time at the Grace building 🥁 to get a line, and OMG @ that inward heel in “Double E,” a new Orchard Skateshop edit starring Eddie Vargas and Eamon Durkan, filmed by Ted Purtell. Mostly Mass spots, but they make it down to New York a few times. (That impossible in the West Village, too!)

Xavier Holte skates through the rock salt in a cruisey, all-NYC part for OJ Wheels.

Jenkem has a great feature on the next generation of skate videographers from around the world, including the New York-based Alim Orahovac.

Rock Salt Apocalypse

Tristan Mershon uploaded Singer Tower in its 46-minute entirety. Nate Grzechowiak has a banger of an opening part that hadn’t been shared as a single anywhere. Some of those spots must’ve been around for less than 24 hours. Pays to stay on foot.

Simple Magic rounded up the best skateboard writing of 2025, with Mike’s “What’s The Matter With Skateboarding?” shop survey piece and Jacques’ “Skateboarding & The Silver Screen” piece making the list. (Also thanks for the nod on the Tim Duncan pants piece + the waxing ledges one. Those were fun to do.)

“I’ve Never Done A Tre Flip Crook; I’m Never Going To Do One Again” — Johnny Cumaoglu’s Part in “SINGER TOWER” + An Interview With Johnny Cumaoglu

Many people first caught onto Johnny Cumaoglu’s skating through his friend Tristan Mershon’s Fool’s Gold video, a pandemic-era New York project released in early 2021 that had everyone from Blue Park to T.F. asking, “Where the hell are those spots?” (Bonus points if you, of course, were tapped in to the vibrant world of 2010’s New Jersey videos though.) A bit has changed since then: Johnny has a spot on the WKND roster, a recurring role in Jeff Cecere’s 2022-2024 three-peat, and he is no longer a DC Lynx absolutist.

But some things are the same. He is still filming with Tristan on a VX, and has the closing part in his Singer Tower video (his first full-length in 4+ years, hardcopies are for sale!), which we are proud to present to you today.

Skate Jawn has a Khaw Wangkaji and friends edit by Hans Klein, entirely filmed in New York — which is where the absolutely psychotic 360 flip into the escalator bank at World Trade from last week’s Top 10 originated from. The 5050 front biggie on the Brooklyn Bridge Park rail + the tre lip in Long Island City were both nuts as well. Lots to enjoy.

Free has a premiere of Mark Humienik and Grady Smith’s part in Tristan Mershon’s Singer Tower video, which effectively acts as a throwback VX Bronze crew section within the video + Skate Jawn has a premiere of Josh Narvaez’s Singer Tower part.

Zander Mitchell kickflips halfway down the bank at the Battery Park roof ledge-to-bank across from South Ferry, and skates the Courthouse Drop like a bank-to-ledge [?!] in his pro part for Jacuzzi Unlimited. The ender is some galaxy brained light-footedness.

#’s On That Board

Stafhon Boca and a fan. Nah but for real, the Birdman in a yellow suit is 🔥

“In a remarkable gesture of support for grassroots skateboarding, renowned skateboard designer Antonio Durao has fulfilled a long-held dream by donating a collection of his Hardbody deck models and essential skateboarding gear to the Uganda Skateboard Society.” Pretty sure E.J. designed those, but a beautiful collaboration. S.O.T.Y. shit. 🏆

No Jeff Cecere video this Christmas, but he’s working on one 🎅

Fuck This Industry made some decks, and to commemorate, dropped a full Myles Underwood part to much critical acclaim. (“Dis might be more influential then the el toro flip 💯.”)

Another 2025 TJ Rogers part?! Yep, Another 2025 TJ Rogers part!
