Was contemplating taking a four-day weekend and not posting Monday Links until Wednesday, but got enough people in the office to cruise around the internet for a bit. Russ got MVP, Phil got fired and Tyshawn fakie ollied a trash can in front of Supreme since the last Monday Links post, and all of those things feel like they happened a month ago…(Don’t know who took the photo above btw.)

Theories of Atlantis got all urban planner on us and broke down Robert Moses’ circumstantial influence on New York skate spots — though not sure Stuy-Town is really an actual spot for normal humans.

Trying to Get Off the Fall-Off List

The QS Sports Desk didn’t have a horse in the playoff race, but it’s pretty obvious that this Cleveland title is both A) the closest New Jersey will ever come to winning a title thanks to Freehold’s J.R. Smithony, West Orange’s Kyrie Irvings, and the back-to-back Finals appearances New Jersey Nets’ Richard Jefferson, and B) the closest the New York Knicks will ever come to winning a title because we now live in a world where Timofey Mozgovonzsky and Iman Shumpert’s hair are NBA Champions. (It’s still fuck Dan Gilbert forever though.) Last night and Game 7 OKC-GSW were the two best basketball games of all time :) lol Melo.

ANYWAY, been pretty bad at updating lately, huh? Should be back to normal programming this week. Sremmlife 2 is delayed and we’re devastated.

I never did impossibles or heelflips because Ed did them. You couldn’t do it better than that.”

‘Plug’ — The New Bronze Promo

Three hours late may not have been much in 2010, but on the 2016 internet, we might as well be posting the new Bronze promo in the 2010 archives. We blew it.

“Plug” is a departure from the past few rounds of Bronze projects not because it is in HD — not their first video to ditch the VX — but because it’s far more conservative with the nostalgic non sequiturs that made it one of the western world’s most ripped-off skate video franchises. At the same time, it’s a return to the late-2010s, post-Flipmode / pre-merch availability era that made us fall in love with the Bronze age. There’s a revived Phil Rodriguez not seen since the 2011 Q.S.S.O.T.Y Caviar days, an ender part from the venerable Trife alumnus William McFeely, and a loving tribute to the God K.T. in which he appears for one clip like Danny Way in Photosynthesis credits except way tighter — making “Plug” a two-sided love letter to new and old Bronze fans alike. Also shout out to Nick Ferro for consistently making all of us underweight skateboarders proud, part after part :)
