Alltimers got hacked!

“Summer Trip to New York” season has obviously been affected by COVID travel bans, yet it has not full-on stopped skate travel into the city. It’s a really interesting time to visit New York, and videos from right now will stand out a lot down the line. Can’t tell where these dudes are from, but enjoyed every bit of “Pull Up,” a new nine-minute trip edit from Juan Reyna. (They got the memo that Times Square is fun right now.)

“The one thing that has stuck out in my mind from early on was that clip of you backflipping off the Love Park sign after that contest. What the hell were you thinking?” Josh Stewart interviewed the forever inspirational Jahmal Williams for Germany’s Solo magazine.

‘REROCK’ — A New One From Naquan Rollings

Skateboard videos are fairytales: a solitary skater or chosen crew plus filmer, showcasing the fruits of their labor within a rotation of backdrops. If a pedestrian, security guard or lurker is particularly memorable, they’re sometimes allowed inside of the tale for an interlude. But otherwise, every skate video is its own bubble, cordoned off from any factors that might impede the illusion that skateboarding is the only thing that exists.

“You just got to find nice people you love and hold the fuck onto them.” Grosso’s final episode of Love Letters To Skateboarding is a beautiful salute to the LGBTQ+ skate community.

Not much you haven’t heard by now, but it makes a particular impression with the overhead shots of skateparks in the city that have sat empty for months now: a twelve-minute look at how COVID-19 has affected the skate industry in New York, and in many ways, made the act of street skateboarding come full circle to an approach that existed before the skateparks were built everywhere.
