Midnight Club

Bronx O.G. and Papi Brand capo Angel Fonseca has a new part out entitled “No Need For Closure.” Love the night clips, love the deep spot digging, and always an inspiration 🫡

Decent bit of New York footage + an ender in Heitor Da Silva’s new part for Adidas.

Carson Reuther has a great six-minute Philly edit out featuring Brian O’Dwyer, Matt Militano, Kevin Liedtke + more to commemorate the closing of Fairman’s Skateshop, which shut its doors several weeks ago. 47 years has got to be the longest running American skate shop, right? Anyone have another? (Guessing it’s in California, if so?)

Nolan Zangas’ photography book, So Far So Good, is now for sale online.

Greg Navarro’s follow-up to 2021’s Upper West Side Curb Club, which was filmed entirely at the Soldiers & Sailors Monument, will be The Central Park Flatground Club, a video entirely filmed within the confines of Central Park’s 842 acres — a place not exactly known for its abundance of skateable objects.

“It can be a delicate dance to do something you love for money. I’m sure I could have kept my career going for a while, and it was tempting to do that because I was making really good money, but I felt strongly I needed to do something else.” Jenkem interviewed known goat John Gardner about leaving his pro skateboarding career behind so he could focus on doing mental health counseling. Godspeed, John ❤️

“New York was the one where I was, like, ‘Holy shit, these are skate spots.'” Closer posted up Farran Golding’s interview with Nelly Morville from their last issue on their website.

Stingwater’s new video, “SELF PAID,” is live. Includes footy from Johnathan Perez, Carlos Mendoza, Connor Kammerer, Daniel Kim and more. Another Dan Groe production.

Sometimes all you need is …a Philly step and a nearby gas station, and it’ll keep you entertained for an entire summer. Paul Young put together an edit of all the Down By Law clips that feature the Greenpoint Philly step behind Zered Park.

“I don’t know what that guy was on that day, but he looked like pure evil.” Free is hosting Jahmal Williams, Steve Brandi and Aaron Herrington’s shared section from Static VI + has a full interview with all of them about working on the Static series and the time they saw satan in an unmarked SUV.

Ride The Sky

Nothing more beautiful than seeing today’s brightest minds outsmart the skatestoppers installed by yesterday’s dimmest. “Hold On To Those Gifts” is the latest edit from Neema Joorabchi and his crew (Jasper Stieve, Noah Singleton, Zac Gavin, et al.)

Chase Walker made a five-minute edit of leftover footy from Late Nite Stars’ O video. Def some Zak Anders clips in there that exceed most people’s criteria of “throwaway” though ;)

John Valenti has a new video out entitled Free Time. Includes parts from Dustin Eggeling, Cody Lucas, Taylor Nawrocki, Chris Jata, James Sayres (switch flip back noseblunt?!) + others. Heavy on the New York footy, but tons of Euro travel as well :)

“Everything hard to get or expensive isn’t necessarily any more fulfilling. If caviar was $1 a pound, I don’t think anybody would want it.” Jenkem interviewed Antonio Durao about the move to Hardbody, sponsorship history, and his beautiful perspective on this thing we call life ❤ ️

Ted Barrow runs through the history of the Courthouse-Blubba-Columbus Park triangle that sits at the site of the once worst-slum in America — and now makes up probably 25% of New York skate coverage — for the latest episode of Thrasher‘s “This Old Ledge.”

Our friends at Place Mag and Daniel Paese tried to answer one of humanity’s most confounding questions via video essay. No, not are we alone in the universe, but the eternal: “why don’t you skate at the skatepark?”
