Fool’s Spring

Zach Moore (director of last summer’s remix blockbuster, “Jake Johnson: The Movie“) is front-running for delivering 2021’s best laughs so far. A)The Ultimate Skate Songs Collection” envisions skate videos’ most iconic music in the format of a late-night TV commercial for a CD box set. The plot twist in this one is so brilliant. B)A Caption To Die For” pays tribute to Thrasher‘s often absurd video captions in the form of old-timey newspapermen by way of classic Hollywood film noir. Give Zach Moore his skate Oscar.

This likely got to you last week, but ICYMI, Cyrus was the latest guest on The Bunt.

Lucas Puig Oceanside Remix

Once upon a time, a remix video was a bi-monthly occurrence on the pages of this website. But as the the floodgates of daily skate content opened, keeping up with all the Insta posts and raw files got exhausting; we left much of the remixing duties to the random YouTube accounts we follow, whose work we happily link each Monday when they happen to clock every Nik Stain and Vincent Touzery appearance.

Even so, the “Poolside” remix of Lucas Puig loosies circa 2014 has remained a personal favorite in the ol’ editing portfolio. This was before skateboarding on Instagram was what it is now, and some of the dubbing is way off, but it still feels like a skateboard fantasy sports season triumph.

Paris In August

Conor the lost Polar rider. Happy early birthday baby. Photo by Genesis Evans, who posted up a bunch of shots from the October 2018 Japan trip with everyone and everybody. Damn, miss traveling yo :(

The T.F. is closed, as of Sunday afternoon, until … ?

“What the fuck? Fuck.” The Hélas dudes’ twelve minutes of raw footage from their trip to New York while filming for Fellas is predictably… fucked.

“People always want to trap people in a box for what they’re good at.” Thrasher posted the audio of Tyshawn’s interview from their last issue, on the occasion of their “passing the torch” S.O.T.Y. feature.

Now is the Winter of Our EuroTech — On Hélas’ “Fellas” Video

Words by Frozen in Carbonite

Winter. A time for contemplation. Way back at the season’s inception, The Hélas Cap Company dropped the most essential EuroTech document since Lordz’ They Don’t Give a Fuck About Us: the double-DVD skate video, Fellas. I, for one, welcome the current Instagram era if it results in fucking immaculate physical media packaging like the aforementioned. The film comes in a double-CD case like a musically bloated late nineties double album, the track listing printed on each gold disc (the same kind on which your grandfather listened to classical music.) If you no longer own a digital video disc player, it’s also available as a USB keychain fabricated like a lil’ soccer uniform. Truth be told, I’d probably pay triple to avoid watching this or the Pass~Port video part-by-part, on a bunch of different web sites, or both.

Pedro Attenborough’s ‘Fellas’ Part

Hélas’ multi-“disc” Fellas video has revealed itself to be something of the Wu Tang Forever of European skateboarding in 2019. Yet out of all the places they could’ve put Jesus and Javier’s guest tricks, they rightfully picked Pedro’s part.
