Let It Breathe

No way you haven’t seen it but also no other way to begin the round-up: On Friday, Bronze dropped the second edition of “Bronze TV Channel 56” over on Thrasher. Includes full-ish parts from many staples of the Bronze franchise. That CBS ollie into the pit is absolutely insane.

Updated the Quartersnacks One-Spot Part Map for the first time in 2023: Tony Zhang’s Purgatory: The Sproul Video, is a video video filmed entirely at UC Berkeley’s Sproul Plaza, referred to in the YouTube description as “the worst spot in Berkeley.” (“Purgatory” is a fantastic way to describe the spots we waste away the most at.)

Jake Johnson runs through his history with no complies alongside an accompanying sizzle reel for Skate Jawn.

Christian Henry has a new, seven-minute part out with a hall of fame Columbus Park trick right in the middle. Not on the rail! Not on the two block! And it’s a noseslide!

There’s Sexhippies Albany edit featuring the Vargas bros and the rest of the team.

How To Make A Skate Video — ‘Johnny’s Vid,’ The New Video From Johnny Wilson

Of all the wrestling-ass malarkey that we trick ourselves into doing, anticipating the footage of tricks on magazine covers — especially Thrasher covers — occupies a special place. Like, we watch the video mentally ignoring the fact we don’t already know what the ender is going to be. Louie Lopez alluded to it in his Village Psychic thing where he made clear his attempt to ensure the cover trick wasn’t the ender, but alas, it was.

Rest in Peace Robbie McKinley ❤️ Scan via Chromeball

Pretty much all of our collective experiences of Copenhagen are within the bipolar high that is the Scandinavian Summer. For a bit of a reality check of what it’s like on the opposite side of that seasonal coin, our friends at Dancer dropped an “Endless Winter” montage featuring Hjalte, David Stenström + others. Still seems pretty fun, tbh.

Some nice bits of New York footage in the Charlotte-based AVENUE video parts that have been dropping across a few outlets: Vague has Jermaine Whittaker’s part, which includes a 10/10 Three Up Three Down performance, and Skate Jawn has Ethan Kaplan’s part, which includes a NBD (?) ollie at the white building plaza across from Pyramid Ledges.

Orchard Skateshop Capo, Armin Bachman, has a new mini part out for Pepper Griptape. That bank to curb ender in Barcelona really came out of nowhere 💥

The Duplex crew has a new montage video series on Thrasher, entitled “Low Rent.”

Weekend Viewing — Sexhippies’ “HI” Video Starring Eddie Vargas Jr. + Jojo Vargas

Sexhippies just dropped “HI,” their inaugural video offering filmed largely throughout Massachusetts and bordering lands. It kicks off with a few cameos from Jasper Dohrs, Carlos Kanter and Andrew Wilson, but the real stars of the show are Eddie and Jojo Vargas from Gardner, Massachusetts — who you might remember from “Pittsinatti,” the midwest trip video that Orchard dropped last summer. This one has their first proper full parts, full of timeless skateboarding (really partial to Eddie’s switch and nollie hardflip form) that’s as much of the present as its in the era of the pre-VX1000 camcorder that the video is filmed on.
