Tanner Diamond — a favorite videographer in the corridors of the QS office — has a new edit out. It has somehow been over three years since his last one, spring 2023’s “PIECED.” That is enough time for us to have gotten sad about Coles moving away from New York, and to be happy about Coles moving back to New York. (Some of that footy feels like it may even be from before the first one even happened.) If there is one person we have as high regard for in the office as Lucas Puig, it’s Coles Bailey, so there’s naturally one person who should be skating to “West End Girls” again ten years later ❤️
“VANESSA” reflects that all-too-familiar turn among New York skate crews and videographers where — no matter how abundant and endless they tell you this city is for spots — you reach that point where you just need to regularly get the fuck out of here to maintain your love for skateboarding. The video traverses to Detroit, Chicago, Barcelona and beyond while still being firmly anchored in New York. This crew is also probably the only one to have made the Seward ledges feel like something slightly more interesting more than a timeline-friendly east coast placeholder for SoCal schoolyards.
Also shocked there hasn’t been a Target cart woven into the fabric of Tompkins yet.
