The Price Is Right

Love when videos from younger crews go in on midtown spots. “Cockeyed” by Jack Held is a new video mainly filmed in New York with a Miami clip here and there. Back tail down the U.N. hubba and back lip down the tall-ass World Trade rail were crazy.

The YouTuber formerly known as Juicy Elbowz (but currently known as Jesse Alba) dropped a watermarked masterpiece of iPhone footage featuring himself and other Frogian acolytes.

“Before I ever started skateboarding, I played Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. I remember doing wallrides on the game and thinking it was just impossible like it was something only possible in the game.” Heckride interviewed Akwasí Owusu. (Usually when someone has an interview with QS scheduled and it’s timed so close to another one the person just had come out, we fall back. Shout out to Heckride for mentioning the Village Psychic one upfront, and using it to begin the interview altogether. The two came out nothing alike, so shout out to them for that, too ❤️)

Footage Is Footage

You can’t jam the pole and then be mad people are skating the polejam ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Spitfire Wheels: Bringing People Together. Mark Gonzalez skates around downtown Manhattan with Max Palmer, Gus Gordon (!), Nick Matthews, Karim Callender + more. (Why does it always seem like everybody else’s downtown session if better than yours?) Really hope somebody got a photo of Karim’s crook at Rector Street. Almost made the screengrab the headline photo.

Price to Pay is a new Texas-based video by Andy Nguyen with a ton of New York footage in it. The whole crew makes a pilgrimage to the Canal Fountain, and there’s a Trung guest trick in there ;)

Monday Viewing — Sexhippies’ ‘Sexwax’ Video

“Sexwax” is the latest video from Sexhippies and Orchard Skateshop videographer, Ted Purtell. Filmed in New York, Albany, and Springfield, Massachusetts, it’s the follow-up to this past winter’s inaugural “Hi” video with a small parts’ worth of footage from Eddie and Jojo Vargas + appearances from Cooper Qua, Zac Gavin, Jasper Dohrs, Carlos Kanter and Colby Strong. Fence scrapes seem to be on the rise (that ender spot is some shit you’d expect from a video out the northern U.K. crust), and there’s a tre in there worthy of the pantheon of emphatically rotated Photosynthesis tre’s.

And if you’re just joining and wondering “wtf is Sexhippies?” — Village Psychic got the backstory a few months ago re: the origins of the brand and how the crew came together.

From a Shoelace Belt to the Movie Set

We went to this iconic chunk of New Jersey crust last summer, and somebody in the car was like, “I heard some Brazilian dude frontside flipped into this.” Didn’t doubt it, because, you know — Brazilian skaters — but wow. The footage dropped in Retta Skateshop’s Atemporal video that went live on Free last week. It’s in Rafael Gomes’ incredible closer part, which includes an ender at another famous nearby Jersey bank. *Prepares for somebody to say “Tony Macaroni from Lodi actually already frontside flipped into that in 1912.”*

Brianna Delaney has a new, all-Barcelona part out for Grand Collection and Converse. In a career full of incredible back tails, that ender still belongs in the hall of fame.

Our guy Rafael Pereira B.K.A. Haffa dropped a new part filmed on his travels throughout Latin America, with some impeccable switch heel form to close things out.

Best Caesar in Toronto

Catch the Hardbody crew on I-95 this week 💨

This is probably four clips shy of being a capital-P *part*, but our dude and Bunt Jam sharpshooter, Rezza Honarvar, has a new one for Miami’s Andrew Skateshop. Still surreal seeing tricks go down on that CBS ledge in 2023. Loved the fakie ollie, too 💪

Dustin Henry now rides for Frog. If you know anything about Dustin Henry’s extensive sponsor history, you know that it had to happen. Frog dropped a lil’ welcome video, but the real heavy hitter clips are in that Vans video Shari White has on the way…

Spezzatura and squad have a new Milan scene video out: Panorama 2.
