Looks Pretty Dope

Congrats to E.T. on going pro 🍸 Board available on the Alltimers site nowPhoto by Anthony Asfour.

Added Kevin Braun’s “Pier 7” part + Casper Brooker’s “Cathedral” part filmed entirely at Southbank (it’s actually the fourth inclusion to be filmed entirely at SB) to the Quartersnacks One-Spot Part Map, which is slowly creeping its way to 100 spots :)

There is absolutely no way you haven’t already caught these, right? Jamal Smith skates to his own music and returns to the Ithaca Park that made him a superstar in his new Adidas part (that heelflip front blunt!) + Jahmir Brown pays homage to Javier Nuñez’s front crook off the Courthouse Drop in his new DC part.

Bump To Supply Chain

“I realized so many stories or moments that I’ve lived don’t have photos to accompany them. I wasn’t equipped, equipment-wise or mentally, to decide, ‘This moment is a photo,’ and I need to go out of my way to get it no matter what people think.” The Slam City Skates blog has an interview with French photographer, Benjamin Deberdt, about coming to New York to shoot photos of Keenan, Huf and the Cardona brothers in the nineties. (He shot the above Huf photo.)

Added Vu Skateshop’s “Lyric” video — filmed entirely at the Lyric Monument in Baltimore — to the QS One-Spot Part Map.

Q.S.S.O.T.Y. Alumni Alert — Leo Gutman’s ‘Vague’ Part

Though we are still a few months off from year-end recap season, the winner of “Best Facial Hair Assortment in a Video Part” is a clear shoe-in. Leo Gutman — who hoisted up the imaginary Q.S.S.O.T.Y. trophy in 2013 following his masterful closing section in Jeremy Elkin’s Brodies video — spends his new Vague mag part donning an assortment of looks that would make one of those laminated posters in the front window of a barbershop jealous.

Like Glowstick, We Crack Then Shine

Antonio tomfoolery in the QS Dunk that is coming out pretty soon :) Photo by Jason Lecras

From a skate house above a chicken shop by Southbank to a GQ feature: Fashion-writer-who-actually-skates-and-can-write, Noah Johnson, profiled the minds behind Palace for a feature in Famous Men’s Magazine™.

Heckride interviewed Johnny and Mitchell’s brother, Andrew. Very excited for Coots’ video ♥

There is no shortage of crust evangelists working in New York skateboarding today, but every once in a while, there’s a part so endlessly dedicated to spots with eight things wrong with them that you need to stop and give #respect. Charlie Cassidy’s 4 x 4 part is one of those, and Vague mag has the part + an interview with him about it. The cast of In Crust We Trust would be proud :)

Sk8boy Island

It’s the “picture of Rihanna on vacation as a Monday Links headliner bc shit is slow” point of the summer…

We’re up to 68 parts on the QS One-Spot Part Map!

“I remembered from like being a kid and being like ‘Why would I fucking count how many times this dude pushes,’ but then when I saw the Andrew Allen stats and there was like flannel stats and shit I was like, ‘Yes! Fuck dude, thats awesome. I’m not the only one counting weird shit.'” The statisticians at 4-Ply crunched the numbers on all of Frank Gerwer’s footy, and got an interview with the man as well. We need to do a Frank Five Favorite Parts…

The Village Psychic dudes got Steve Brandi to talk us through his Static IV part.

Eby Ghafarian has a new part up over on the Vague site.
