It was a SLOW Monday morning of skateboard link data collection (there has yet to be any coherent #longform reflection on “BLESSED” to peruse), but then T.J. nollie flipped — actually, maybe just watch the part…”KILLER” is a full Tyshawn part filmed exclusively at T.F. West.

Office favorite, Krazy Frankie, has a new part out for Frog today, with guest tricks from the rest of the team and one of the best half cab flips in the biz ;)

Someone went and put together a remix video of French steez lord, Stephane Larance. It’s reassuring that we’re not the only mega nerds spending precious hours on earth making remix videos of skaters mostly known from early-2000s European wheel company videos.

It has been a truly remarkable year for Upstate New York videos. “Nonsense” is a new one from Taryn Ward, with some of the same guys that you’ll recognize from April’s “Steel” video.

Old man yells at ~~cloud~~ the Instagram “Explore” page (jk, jk…kind of) — Village Psychic interviewed Marc Johnson about what constitutes as a circus trick today.

Here’s Tyler Stier’s part from the Buffalo, N.Y-based Jeb video, which looks like it’s filmed in every place on the eastern seaboard between Buffalo and Miami.

After shading him on Friday, I happened to stumble upon this clip of this elusive “Clay Kreiner” and it’s actually pretty beast.

Phil Rodriguez’s Caviar part will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts, and seeing his minute-long Insta part last week made everyone really happy.

With cab flips #trending hard in the first half of 2018, we’ll throw T.J’s one from his T.F. West Insta clip as an early frontrunner for one of the year’s best.

“Skateboarding is such a beautiful thing that gathers people from different backgrounds, and is a radical practice that reimagine cities, ways of life and transcends borders. But I think skateboarding has been resting on its ‘norm breaking’ status.” Free has a piece by Marie Dabbadie from the Pushing Boarders conference that invites us to think deeper about gender identity within skateboarding, rather than giving ourselves hollow pats on the back simply for not being the lacrosse team.

Theories has a new montage up featuring what I imagine will be the last footage ever released from Ziegfeld :(

E.J. made a short video with Powers skating the Queens triangle spot (recognizable from every Bronze video ever) for his collaboration with Fila.

Taylor Nawrocki filmed an entire part at the Williamsburg Monument.

Jamie Thomas talks to Manhattanite Keith Hufnagel for thirty minutes.

Not much by way of New York footage, but Brass and Jawn Gardner have some clips in the new OJ video.

“I find a lot of that talk…Like Thrasher gear and what not, ‘Ey yo, you don’t skate, you’re not supposed to wear it bro!’ You have a baseball hat on and I haven’t seen you throw a curveball motherfucker.” Germany’s Solo mag caught up with Jason Dill.

They’re knobbing spots that, like, three people have skated before now.

Best video of 2017? Scumco and Sons has a new one featuring Kyle fucking Nicholson and Philly Santosuosso. The overall spirit of the Pittsburgh skate scene is one of the most admirable, inspiring and make-you-feel-stupid-for-complaining-about-literally-anything forces in skateboarding. God bless everyone involved. Really predictable #1 for this week’s QS Top 10 as well.

Stuff you’ve seen already — 1) Palace dropped a new, 14-minute video that includes a small intro part for Lucas at the end. Dej is sick but he should’ve skated to Cardi B. 2) The boys behind Hjalte Halberg’s favorite non-Swedish skateboard company went to Brazil and came back with the feel-good motion picture of the summer. My new favorite skateboard-writer, Jesse Alba, also wrote the article about their trip to Russia with accompanying photos by Colin Sussingham.

15. Astor Renovation

Two years ago, we lost a zen-like intersection of flatground that intertwined with all vibrant walks of life — the greatest non-spot in this history of skateboarding. It was, however, replaced with actual skateable obstacles this year: decent-enough beveled benches, a gap that replicated BAM’s ledge-to-street gap, and a Flushing-width flatground gap that Jason Byoun switch Muska flipped. The spot’s original meditative qualities dissolved into cement fairy dust, but at least it’s something to skate for now, even if the overall aesthetic of the new Astor Place is “we ran out of money.”

There’s this video of Kenny Anderson and Vincent Alvarez skating Lenox Ledges (Antony Correa cameo!), and yes, Kenny footage is always a pleasure, but there’s only one bit of Lenox footage from the past week that anyone was talking about. Good lord.

Trife alumnus, Black Dave Willis, has a new part live on the Thrasher site entitled “NYBD.” Gap to front blunt on the out ledge across from World Trade is a wild one.

Can’t Ban the J.B. Man.

Tredje Akten is a rad 20-minute video by the homie Tao from the Malmö + Copenhagen scene. Features Ville, Hjalte, etc + a full Polar section at the end.

NY Skateboarding posted part one of apparently a three-part series of video interviews with Keith Hufnagel. This one talks about meeting Keenan Milton, the infamous Ryan Hickey house that housed all homeless skateboarders of the era, moving to San Francisco, skating Embarcadero, etc.

Gotta #respect a ten-minute Boston video that doesn’t hit Eggs once. Not easy. “Mean Streets Volume 2,” A.K.A. the LurkNYC boys go to Boston.

Two teasers for upcoming videos that should be a good time: Division from Politic Skateboards (#caddoalert), and Elan Vital from Studio Skateboards.

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Who cares about Melo’s Olympic postgame interview, Russell Westbrook’s “Now I Do What I Want” video is singlehandedly the most inspirational sports moment of 2016, and the only promotional material the NBA needs for the 2016-2017 season. #MVP.
