Pratt

Spots: Brooklyn — Downtown & Fort Greene

Spot: Strategically positioned at the Pratt Architectural Building, this non-sensical spot is one of the more unique things you can find in this part of Brooklyn. It is a two-foot-high, backside for regular / frontside for goofy wooden bench into a short, not-too-steep-but-steep-enough bank leading down to the sidewalk. You have about twenty-feet of runway, and may need to move a stone ashtray in front of the ledge before you can skate the spot (it is light and not bolted into the ground.)

Across the street, in the playground, is a five-foot-long, two-foot-high round flatbar.

Bust — ♦♦♦♦ / Very Likely: The spot is in front of the security window of the building, so they usually catch sight of you pretty quickly. On occasion, there will not be security there at all, and you can skate the spot for however long you like.

You usually have twenty minutes at the flatbar before a custodian from the building comes out and tells you to leave.

Location: Lafayette Avenue and Saint James Place in Fort Greene / Clinton Hill. Take the G train to Clinton–Washington Avenues and skate east on Lafayette Avenue for two blocks until you hit Saint James Place.
