In literal shock that the Bos brothers — who have been making those great upstate New York videos — aren’t even American. They live in Canada! And drive into New York state all the time to film for their projects! Incredible. Anyway, TWS has an interview that we wish we did with Adam Bos about the process behind his video series, which has yielded some of the most rewatchable and unique projects going today. They also have the raw footy from Bos’ last one, “Wide Open.”

Bottom Shelf is a new full-length from Dylan Holderness and Evan Pacheco that’s about 60% New York / 40% L.A. footage, and definitely worth a Monday morning coffee watch. Probably the first footage of that barrier that’s been on Delancey for the past ~year? Hard to convey in footage, but that thing is basically sloped uphill…

We’re not exactly weed olympians here at the QS office, but as far as iconic weed moments in skateboarding go, one towers above all the rest: Billy Rohan going to a legalize rally at Tompkins with a megaphone to tell everyone that marijuana makes your breath smell like a bong. Chewy Cannon buying a bag in the same sequence that he 5050ed a hubba counts for something, too.

Bert’s Vid — An Addendum to Quasi, Bronze, et al.

Between IG stories and “raw file” clips, there aren’t too many curated destinations for B-roll in 2019. An enterprising few will participate in skateboard fantasy sports and make remixes out of those loosies, but even those are running scarce these days. In this attention economy, asking somebody to watch the same footage twice is A LOT. (Jk, peep the remix that we posted last week.)

Bert’s Vid is a 35-minute bro cam video by Justin Helmkamp documenting much of the toil behind Quasi’s Mother and Bronze’s It’s Time videos (there are a couple No Idea bits in there too, too.) Yeah, there are a handful of shots of dudes following with an HXV, but there’s also footage of the warm-up tricks, the pre-sessions at Borough Hall, and the interludes spent around the corner at some shittier spot while you’re waiting for security to go back inside.

Features E.J. and pretty much everyone you’ve ever seen in Bronze or Quasi video.

And if you play a Bert’s Vid drinking game where you take a shot every time that Chachi gives you the middle finger, you’d probably be …mildly buzzed — though not totally tanked ;)

The new Bronze 56k video, It’s Time is now live.

Thrasher has raw files for Josh Wilson and Dick Rizzo’s Quasi vid parts.

All of a sudden you’re only three minutes into a seven-minute-long Black Hubba compilation clip, and realize that you’ve already passed the switch 360 flip lipslide. If you live in New York, you waste at least .5% of your life sitting around at Blubba doing nothing. Here’s a video of all the moments that didn’t go to waste.

Someone made a 411 “Rookies” mix of some circa 2010 Brandon Westgate footage, though if we were being literal about things, it should’ve been to his Word of Mouth footage.

On that note, Tombo uploaded another “Raw Deals” clip with more classique French guys than you’d expect. More on that later this week hehehe.

R.I.P. St. Dymphnas A.K.A. Yellow Bar A.K.A. Same Difference. You were never anyone’s favorite bar, but you were the best cheap bar by Tompkins when it started raining, and for that reliability, you will be missed.

The creators behind the first ever “Summer Trip to New York” montage to utilize 6ix9ine were nice enough to release it alongside the clip’s raw files for those not bold enough to find out what a full 6ix9ine song actually sounds like.
