J3 is a homie video by Matt Roberge. It’s hard to tell where it is based out of, but Quartersnacks is contractually obligated to link any video that includes a (particularly great) Max B song. Beyond the soundtrack, it’s an all-around fun 16-minute watch.

R.B. Umali put together two clips for Red Bull in anticipation of Manny Mania. Manny Mania passed (Brezinski won), but any footage of Zered and Luis Tolentino skating New York is always welcome. P.S. Has anyone who takes skate contests too seriously screamed “CONSPIRACY!” in regards to Joey Brezinski designing the obstacles that he wins contests on? P.P.S. Puma has a skate team?

If you enjoy skateboarding, you should buy a plane ticket to Spain. Here’s one bit of motivation, which reveals how it is possible to skate the most blown-out skate trip destination in Europe (the world?) for three weeks, and still avoid many of its most famous spots. Oh, and Madrid has a lot of spots too, in case you didn’t know.

EVENTS! If you’re into contests and demos, the Afro Punk Festival is this weekend.

12th & A is back. Please refrain from any illegal conduct so we can avoid its fate from last winter, and not set skateboarding back five years due to adolescent idiocy.

These Skate Europe videos have been on VBS for three years. Never knew they existed until Frozen in Carbonite tweeted about them the other day. They’re incredible, and drive home the point of how much America sucks for skateboarding compared to Europe. “There was nothing on TV that night, so I just started making a mini ramp in the living room.”

If you want to listen to Jason Dill play music and talk shit, KCHUNG AM radio out in Los Angeles posted up a MP3 of his June 17th broadcast. No, it doesn’t really have anything to do with skateboarding. It is more about throwing a glass of Jameson at a DJ because he was scratching over Rolling Stones songs.

Speaking of Palace, as per the observation of Phat Stylez co-founder Sweezy F. Wasty, the Associated Supermarkets logo is strikingly similar to the Palace triangle. Perhaps we have stumbled on the next big thing for grocery store skateboard apparel.

The Miami Heat have the best basketball player alive and still cannot sell out their stadium during the post-season. Now that two Miami-based pornstars are offering oral sex to any Heat “fan” in celebration of their championship, will their “fans” begin showing up to the game before the 2nd quarter starts?

The New York Department of Transportation released a commercial with Baron Davis urging New Yorkers to pay attention on the street / not walk and text. Needless to say, it would’ve been way better if they used J.R. Smith…

TRENDWATCH 2012: Is This 2013’s Biggest T-Shirt?

For the second year in a row, the Palace triangle has dominated graphic tee shirt marketshare at Tompkins Square Park. That does nothing to stop eager trend forecasters from looking for the *next big thing* in the awfully difficult-to-predict world of graphic tee shirts.

A prominent Upper West Side ex-Lurker wearing a shirt to support his neighborhood gourmet / kosher grocer (pictured above, top left) is nothing out of the ordinary, but leading analysts have started to see this particular garment increase in visibility throughout the past six-month cycle of skate footage. Its most notable appearance was in a Barcelona-set Mark Suciu throwaway clip. Now that the shirt has been adopted by west coasters with east coast sensibilities, analysts scramble to determine if this 80th & Broadway establishment’s sole foray into graphic tees could dethrone the current London-based triangular juggernaut, and return a sizable piece of the market back to New York’s local economy (previously occupied by Autumn.)

If optimistic projections hold true, and this garment gains traction into our summer 2013 trend report, the implications would be immense. It would make Zabar’s the first kosher skate apparel company, possibly resulting in increased Jewish investment within skateboarding. Also, other New York-based grocers like Fairways, Gristedes, and even low-end outfits like C-Town and Associated would have no choice but to play catch-up in this largely untapped market.

How much did Melo’s game winning shot (and Rose and Deng’s missed free throws, for that matter) have to do with the legendary Frank Costanza sitting courtside yesterday? (Visible at 1:06 with his non-biological son.)

E.J. now has a dedicated website Tumblr for his photos at FuckYouEmilio.tumblr.com. A lot of Tompkins photos, some some cute lookbook shots, and this epic photo of Araabmuzik.

Phat Stylez came through with a mini retrospective on Aesthetics, easily one of the phattest skate brands of all time. Part 1, part 2. Watch Ryde of Die before you put on your bucket hat to go skateboarding today.

Late, but here’s the video for the New Orleans, Birmingham, and Atlanta portion of the Map Masquerade tour. New Orleans is easily one of the better-looking parts of America, and Suciu and Jake kill it. (Loosely Related: Here’s Jake backside noseblunting the rail-to-bank at St. Vincent’s.)

It’s good to see 12th & A / East Side Community High getting some good press about their involvement with skateboarding after the nonsense that caused 12th & A to get shut down late last year. (No, it’s still not open for public use.)

Have custom cut cruiser shapes gone too far? Jason Jesse made an AK-47 shaped cruiser. Unfortunately, it’s shaped like the gun, and not a skateboard silhouette of Russian forward for the Utah Jazz, Andrei Kirilenko, who wears #47.

While researching last week’s post about bulky skate shoes, this Donger Puma commercial came up. Here’s a play by play: He skates up to a set of stairs, opens a laptop, some chick pulls up in a convertible, she walks past him, he stares at her ass in leopard print pants, she turns around, they make long eye contact, she walks away, and he then decides he’s better off doing an ollie over her car. Oh, and Korn is playing in the background the entire time. Imagine that pitch meeting…
