For all the things to love about Limosine, the fact they have completely upended any of our built-in expectations about what is included in a “new drop” edit is among the most underrated. Usually, when companies throw an edit out to announce new gear (note, we are leaving full-length videos that also coincide with a few new SKUs in a brand’s webstore out of the equation here), it’s the in-between B-roll. The warm-ups. The shit leftover from trying the “serious” tricks that get saved for BIG VIDEO.

Carhartt WIP’s follow-up to 2022’s Inside Out is now live. While that one was entirely filmed on Euro trips, Precious is a half New York / half L.A. production featuring an ever-expanding team that now includes Eddie Cernicky, Jackie Michel, Ewing Ayala, Noah Mahieu, Tanner Burzinski (who fits right in as the team’s one and only tech lord) and more.

Don’t know what’s more surprising: the fact that the Joseph Campos bank on Water Street is just a “spot” now, or that people are still finding tricks to do on the Mraz bank-to-hubba in The Bronx? Eddie Cernicky steals the show on both.

About nine hours after its release, we are perhaps the last skateboard media institution in existence to not have posted something about the new Limosine edit.

By now, you have probably caught wind of the fact that the video contains two — yes, two! — tricks heard around the world. (A trick heard around the world is that rare moment when the Instagram timeline unifies into a consensus and every account reposts the same clip. Notable examples are Tiago’s switch back tail on the high, not-skated ledge at MACBA in 2017, or Midler back 3’ing into the Hollywood car wash in 2020.) Today, these were, of course, Noah Mahieu’s other-way 5-0 pivot to fakie 5-0 in Paris, and Karim’s already certified classic frontside flip over the Houston Park rail.

And we’re only reporting on them now.
