We did an end of the year inventory over at the warehouse, and turned up some loosies of things we had marked as sold out. Check the webstore in case you missed out on something from the last release. It’s not a restock, e.g. maybe we found quite literally two larges of a tee and threw them back online. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Thank you everyone for all the support throughout the year.
“I think me doing all these other things outside of skating makes me like skating more.” Thrasher posted up Tyshawn’s interview from the last issue, and the full “BLESSED” article online. Still processing how Kadow’s Chinatown Banks lipslide ever worked out.
Boil the Ocean is still running down their annual Top 10 parts segment, and Cafe Creme offers up a #list for their 2018 “Gourmet Selection.” The final installment of our Year in Review will be live shortly ;)
Neil Herrick’s part in Fairman’s 4 really turns up a couple notches after Jordan Trahan’s (…right?) guest trick.
Mike Sass put up PFP5 online in its entirety.
Despite talking shit about how nothing really went online video-wise last week, this Converse Brazil video has some wild clips in it. And while we’re at it, Tiago’s section from TWS’ Duets video is online too. Thx 4 the love bro ♥
Merry Jinxmas from Hijinx!
Paul Young uploaded a few minutes of circa 2015 Nick Ferro raw files.
Need a playlist with a sizable chunk of the Young Thug leaks from 2018? Yeah, you do. It’s insane some of these are sitting in purgatory compared to what gets released by the label. This playlist > the sum of his “official” 2018 output, and his “Let It All Work Out” is better than his dad’s ♥
QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Theotis Beasley WITH THE BLOCK!!!

“I don’t remember doing this…was it in the Transworld Duets video?” Antonio Durao varial heel the Banks rail in the December 2018 edition of TWS “Sightings.” Photo by Blair Alley.
Village Psychic came through with a lovely Jawn Gardner remix, just as we revert back to mid 40-degree temperatures for this upcoming week :) Thanks for keeping us hyped in 2k18, John ♥
We were so naive to think that we could close the lid on 2018 while retaining the innocence of never hearing “Sicko Mode” in a “Summer Trip to New York” montage *facepalm* Jk, jk. The Chef boys from Milan came through in the eleventh hour and released a montage from their summer here.
Lukas Reed, the creator of this past summer’s all-Everson Art Museum video, “Mecca,” met up will Bill Strobeck on a cold day at Syracuse’s most famous skate spot to discuss his history with the plaza for a Bobshirt-esque video interview.
“E-Money” tracked down nearly five minutes of Will Marshall loosies for a remix. Wooooooooo!
New footage of Leo Heinert, Luis Tolentino, and the rest of the crew in “Crudo,” the raw footage promo for Rodney Torres’ company, Torro.
More feel-good moments: a one-minute 2018 recap via Chico Brenes.
Akira Mowatt, Charles Lamb, Robert Lim and some of the locals have a iPhone edit from their time in Shanghai. We were there for like a week and skated maybe half of these places? Place is as wild as everyone makes it out to be for spots.
Another one for the ever-increasing scroll of fun Upstate New York videos this year: “Tailgate” via Buffalo Dave.
Bronze dropped a quick edit of Nick Ferro leftovers from It’s Time.
Some New York clips in the un-used footage reel from Pete Spooner’s Skating Is Easy video, which is premiering in Minneapolis later this week.
Jenkem asked skate shop owners about what we can do to keep them around for as long as possible.
QS Sports Desk: John Wall playing like he doesn’t want to get traded to the Knicks and fade into obscurity in two years because of it.
Quote of the Week: “At first I thought that guy in the grey beanie was Alex Olson, but then I realized he looked more like Post Malone.” — Dana Ericson

Pretty much any group of skaters that has passed this spot these past ~20 years has stopped and debated whether it was possible or not. I remember somebody pointing out that if Brandon Westgate hadn’t done it yet (he definitely would’ve known about it), then maybe it was impossible. We even posed the rhetorical “how long until” on Twitter two years ago (that photo does the size of it zero justice, btw.) Really glad T.J. was the one to get it. The fact that an ollie is on the cover should tell you all you need to know about how crazy this is. (Well, that and the fact that it’s broad daylight in midtown Manhattan should color the narrative a bit, too.) Assuming everyone will be onboard the #TJSOTY train when that Supreme video drops, so yeah. Photo by Jared Sherbert.
And on that note, Boil the Ocean makes an assessment of the past eleven months to decide who should be eligible for S.O.T.Y.
The match-up you’ve all been waiting for: Nyjah Houston v.s. Alexis Lacroix.
Office favorite, Jawn Gardner, has a new part over on Thrasher full of hairy spots. Glad you’re ok John! ♥
Been a fan of this guy since he skated to People Under the Stairs (yeah…) in 411 — if you need some style inspo for the day, Free managed to unearth a ton of unseen Javier Sarmiento footage from the start of the millennium.
After getting shamed for not putting the new OG.2000 video (the dudes who made the “Mariah” video last year and um, ollied onto a Ferrari) in #QSTOP10 contention a week ago, we finally got around to watching it, and yeah, it got way less shine than it deserved on the skate internet. Tons of incredible Euro skating from names that will likely be unknown to you — though I’m sure some #trend-weary curmudgeons will find issue with something. These two tricks in Paris are fucked.
Brian Anderson is the latest guest on Lee Smith’s podcast. The interview is damn near two hours long. Maybe these could benefit from Soundcloud or Podcast links? Or did we miss that?
Looks like SML Talk is updating their site again. Here’s a listicle of 17 “beautiful” moments in skate video history. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and quite frankly, Jason Byoun’s Astor Place line from Life is Goodie got robbed.
It’s no video blog, but Johnny went to Argentina to film the SB team a year ago, and made his own clip of the trip just now. Can’t wait for Beef Patty 2.
Back when Crailtap was a daily visit and the skateboard internet was a smaller place, they used to post these random digi cam tidbits (pre-iPhone obvs) on their site. Someone compiled all of them, 2003-2005.
The building got tired of replacing the rail in front of the out ledge at FedEx and just… knobbed the ledge instead.
QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Hell ya Louuuuuuuu.
Quote of the Week: “I could see myself adding a nice siesta to my daily routine.” — E.J.
Shout to Cosme Studio for coming through on a slightly higher quality digital copy of Continuum. These are maybe only 10-15% better quality than the ones that have been on YouTube for ages, but hey, slow motion is better than… Also we’ve certainly pontificated about it in the past, but wow was Jerry Fowler’s skateboarding ahead of its time. Jahmal’s is obvs timeless, but you knew that :)
Happy birthday Ben Blundell! Photo via that social media platform that people stopped using in favor of Instagram being worse at doing the same exact things. No idea who took the photo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The creators behind the first ever “Summer Trip to New York” montage to utilize 6ix9ine were nice enough to release it alongside the clip’s raw files for those not bold enough to find out what a full 6ix9ine song actually sounds like.
“Either you’re down or you’re not. New Orleans is insanely small, and not only am I the shop owner, but I skate, so at the end of the day at 7, I’m like on the corner with all boys drinking beer. I don’t want to be like, “uh no you’re not on, you are on.” It’s just dumb, so with me it’s just like man the whole city’s on.” Skate Jawn has a new interview with QS office favorite, Philly Santosuosso. (Related.)
Boil the Ocean’s Quasi Mother review is here to remind you that Josh Wilson is all-too-often forgotten in the Skateboarding’s Greatest Hair™ conversation. That reminds me to go pop a biotin right now…
You’ve no doubt caught it, but Adidas has a new video of the 50-year-old Mark Gonzales and the twenty-year-old Tyshawn Jones skating around lower Manhattan together. The “this is a state trooper building” bit made me laugh hehe.
Spencer Hamilton got two bangers at Big Screen in his new part on Thrasher.
Imagine driving from Austin to New York so that you could skate the triangle manual pad up the block from L.E.S. These dudes look like they drove from Austin to New York so they could skate the triangle manual pad up the block from L.E.S.
Leo season begins today, but apparently so did Jinx season.
TWS has Andrew Singh’s part from the Westchester-based PFP5 video.
The Bunt is back and their first episode of the new season is with the last non #big #rail #guy to get S.O.T.Y., Wes Kremer.
Here is a minute of Mother extras and B-sides. Hope for more one day :)
