Noah Singleton’s Part in ‘Til It’s Gone’ By Neema Joorabchi

There are spots that everyone always skates by and throws hypotheticals on: “one day, someone will ollie this gap,” “one day, someone will 5050 this rail.”

For years, people would throw out eventualities about the kinked rail beside the 53rd Street side of the Seagram Building, which is, of course, a Ludwig Mies van der Rohe-designed landmark, a onetime home of The Famous Expensive Restaurant™, and the site of the green step-up ledges that the building’s security guards have grown an increasing affinity for throwing water on.

As ride-on grinds expanded in popularity, that fantasy got adapted for the modern age: “imagine if someone grinded that.”

“That” being the ledge that ran beside the eight-flat-nine double set.

This Year Halloween Fell On A…

Sorry, sometimes the headline is too obvious to resist 💋

WOW2G is a new 22-minute video by Eighty Twenty, Hell World, and the Travel Skateshop family. Half-New York, half-Jersey spots. Aron Moloney (first full part) and Derek Thor (second-to-last part) both crush it. The pinches on those switch front crooked grinds!

Also a decent dose of Jersey City footy in Neema Joorabchi’s new B-roll montage.

If you haven’t seen Fred Gall’s “Out There” on Thrasher, it fucking rules. Make yourself a nice sandwich and throw on his Bobshirt interview from 2018 afterwards.

But Make It Fashion

Ok, let’s try this again: The Quartersnacks Nike SB Dunk Low Pro will be available at skateshops in the U.S., Canada + Europe on this Saturday, September 18. We will not be selling them on our webstore. Some other territories have already began selling them. We will be giving some pairs away on QS social channels — stay tuned. We will have a small round of new mainline QS items going live in our webstore at 11 A.M. E.S.T. on this Friday, September 17. (That stuff is also available through a select batch of U.S. shops.)

In the meantime, shorts + some other summer stuff is on sale in the webstore, so stock up for your warm winter getaway ;) thanks everyone for the support.

There’s no way you haven’t seen the Dime x Vans video yet, right? Hugo Balek = Jake Johnson. Ben Blundell… 🎶 That Ben is a real crowd pleaser 🎶

~*Keep video blogz w3ird*~ The fifth installment of Josh Paynter’s Monday Links-fave video blog series continues to focus on the weird spots in this city (+ Soho curbs obvs.) Shout out to everybody not skating the same shit as the rest of us — it’s a lot of work.

Zebra Week

The Quartersnacks Nike SB Dunk Low Pro will be available at skateshops in the U.S. + Europe on September 18. (Yes, the date got moved.) No, we will not be selling it on our webstore. We *will* have a few regular QS merch items that we did in conjunction with the shoe available soon. Photo by David Cabrera.

Stephen Ostrowski is pro for Glue! And has a new part! Always get so shook watching people skate that yellow wall rail thing at Long Island University because of how close your head is to the barbed wire. Fully yelled at the screen when Stephen ducked under it. Also includes a beast varial heel courtesy of Cooper and his shenanigans ♥ (P.S. The Ether section at Three Up Three Down is still office-favorite viewing.)

“Which drew a bigger audience of U.S. skaters, the Olympics or the Dipset/Lox Verzuz?” (Actually got the answer to this.) Boil the Ocean tackles the Olympics. (Free also has some Olympics coverage, for those interested.)

Jan Maarten Sneep has firmly ascended to that top-tier list of skate video auteurs who incite an immediate click whenever something new drops. The latest montage for Vans’ Dutch team is full of yell-at-the-screen-creative skateboarding, and contains the meticulous editing that comes with all Sneep productions.
