A bunch of young kids rip around mostly east coast spots in this great /m\ video throwaway montage. Features Lurker Lou victim Matt Militano, Sage Elsesser, Aidan Mackey, Ben Kadow, a few big Dylan Reider fans, and some other people you’d recognize from the T.F. Full length video available online June 1st.

Add this to your list of things to look forward to in 2013: FTC is putting a book together about its storied history. “Featuring interviews, photos, classic ads, memorabilia by FTC’s most legendary affiliates.” Due out in fall 2013. Check out the FTC book blog for continued updates.

The architecture website, ArchDaily, offers a reasonable take on the whole Southbank relocation saga going on in London right now, drawing obvious comparisons to Love Park. “Skating is one of only a handful of cultures that forms such strong, quasi-religious attachments to discovered rather than purpose-built spaces.”

Jahmal Williams describes the thought process one goes through when deciding whether or not to stab someone, among other things in his “Free Lunch” segment.

Boil the Ocean assesses who “has earned the right to post ‘TURN UP’ in all caps on their Instagram account” throughout the next three months A.K.A. notable developments in pro skateboarding to keep an eye on this summer.

Rob Dyrdek wasted no time in filling recently vacated Alien Workshop roster spots. The new line of Alien and Habitat products is looking solid, too.

Lucas Puig is sorta okay at skateboarding. P.S. Cliché, we’re still waiting to hear back about doing that re-edit.

A few new parts recently went online: Matt Eaton in Feelin’ Friendly, Matt Daniels in Outdated, and also — who would have thought the most cellar door-heavy entry in Bobby Puleo’s oeuvre would come in 2013?

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Paul George over Birdman. Who’s gearing up to become a Spurs fan starting June 6th?

Quote of the Week: “Vin Diesel obviously drinks, so he has like…tits.” — Uncle Marty’s Fast & Furious 6 Review

Here’s a photo of Gino in an Abercrombie shirt. Chinese food makes me sick. (Has anyone skated to that song before?) Have a good week, everyone.

We’ve been fans of Christian Willis’ skating for a while now. After what seems like a bit of a hiatus, he’s back taller and with a sick new video part. Why a legitimate company hasn’t given this kid a chance is absurd. Him and Forrest Edwards should be getting checks for skating.

As you may already know, London’s Southbank is facing an uncertain future. There’s a new six-minute montage paying tribute to the spot, featuring every London-based skater you can think of. Huck wrote a somewhat level-headed appraisal of the situation, which doesn’t seem likely to favor preservation of the spot as it stands. But it’s a bit stupid to say “The British skate media is secretly tired of Southbank’s status as the UK’s EMB,” considering skate spots with multi-decade spanning histories are becoming increasingly rare with each passing year.

The inaugural entry to 2013’s “Summer Trip to New York” cycle?! Part 1, Part 2.

AM New York has a new clip with Ariel Perl shredding around Boston and New York.

Ripped Laces contends that Austyn Gillette will inevitably skate for Converse.

Zered Bassett already rides for Converse and has some photos with a new interview about a recent Cons Hawaii trip over on the Transworld site.

The new LurkNYC video, CCTV, is premiering at 44 Troutman Street in Brooklyn this Saturday, May 18. J train to Myrtle-Broadway. 10 P.M. Flyer here, teaser here.

Still mad street.

There’s another part from Mama’s Boys on YouTube now.

An interview with the Mira Conyo crew about skateboarding in Washington Heights.

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Either Iman Thug’s Game 2 putback or Nate Robinson’s block on Lebron.

Didn’t Mark Suciu film more parts last year than Rogers did in his entire career?

Cam rapped over the Golden Girls theme and the new Waka mixtape is pretty good because it doesn’t sound like every other tape he released in the past three years.

Supreme London has a new video out that feels like a weird commercial you’d see at the end of a non-411 video magazine circa 2000, but in a good way.

In actual early-2000s non-411 video magazine news, Skate.ly uploaded Progression Video Magazine #2. It includes parts from Aaron Suski (shout to Rawkus), Pat Smith, Airto Jackson (who was a bit ahead of his time, especially by east coast standards), and a definitely ahead of his time, NY-heavy section from Dave Mayhew, which has Rodney Torres cameos and an insane ender at the Banks (it was unfortunately forgotten for our rap video skate part post.) In all honesty, if resources were no issue, the one dream article that would be perfect for QS is one of those “oral histories” about The Storm, the most misunderstood skate video of all time.

Rihanna loves Ishod Wair’s socks. She’s perfect. Also, Ishod has a new video interview about his Sabotage 3 part.

An early-2000s montage edited by Sho Ma.

Wow, this guy really wants a new board.

To nobody’s surprise, somebody combined a scooter and a pogo stick (you can get money for anything these days.) Can we expect a Lance Mountain Goldfish sequel?

Consumer Goods Updates: 1) Former Aesthetics rider, Jimmy Gorecki, started his own line of high-end sweatpants, called Jimmy Sweatpants. 2) Ripped Laces offers some thoughts on New Balance’s upcoming line of skate shoes.

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Ricky Rubio’s double behind-the-back dribble drive. P.S. Some genius made a song about the QS Sports Desk’s favorite player.

Quote of the Week: “This place is Ted Narrow.” — Tyler Tufty regarding the width of a bar that Ted Barrow was working at.

A remix of Mark Suciu’s Sabotage part is going on The Skateboard Mag site tomorrow, so you guys can continue arguing. Hopefully, it’s not edited to any songs off The Blueprint 3.

Day after Christmas, 1975. Spotted via Skate and Annoy.

As we begin to search for the next generation of baggy-clothed, tech Euro skaters of the Javier/Lebron/Jesus/Flo/Enrique mold, the Czech Republic might be a good place to start. These dudes are not nearly as tech as the aforementioned five, but they’re maaaadddd hip-hop. There’s no doubt that a country containing possibly the best ledge spot on earth is bound to produce an eventual heir to Europe’s technical throne.

If there’s one company on the “I wish they put out more content”-list, it’s Hopps. Joel Meinholz skates through Grand Central in their new commercial.

Even if you’re going to condense the history of skateboarding into 120 seconds, your video should still include Mariano’s Mouse ender. It’s at least as important as the 900.

Music video portraits of urban teen angst are real hot right now. E.J. offers a Super-8 glimpse of dunion life in his visual for Slicky Boy’s latest rapz.

Your favorite rapper’s favorite stripper’s favorite shoe brand gets down with skateboarding for a weird result. #redbottoms

Old(er) skaters spend money to get away from the kids and scooters.

Some history on Southbank, the legendary London skate spot. The article includes the word “salubrious,” which seems like a great Jackie Chiles word.

A 16-minute raw footage B-roll from the recently released Schleyer Video (the video with the latest T.J. part.)

Wikipedia is not without its flaws, but it’s nice to know at least one of its editors considers QS an authoritative source on low impact street skating.

Spot Updates: 1) Chase is still closed off, but the steps have been resurfaced back to normal. 2) They’re putting even more ledges at Seaport, except this time, they’re pre-knobbed! 3) The five-second-bust ledge / manny pad over five on Sixth Avenue near the Holland Tunnel has been remodeled. It’s cool to look at…

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Some middle schooler from New Rochelle hit an insane buzzer beater this past weekend. It’s the middle school equivalent of Sheed’s deflection to mid-court desperation heave from 2004.

Quote of the Week: “What’s that girl with the cool tramp stamp’s name again?” — Anonymous. (Be on the lookout for our first feature film, The Girl With the Cool Tramp Stamp, starring Rooney Mara.)

Go to college, kids! It’s totally worth it!
