*First great video part of 2019 alert* The scientists at Palace realized they needed some young blood on the team and got Heitor Da Silva (alum from the same Swedish skate school as Oski) onboard. He has an awesome new Adidas part out right now (that backside flip, switch frontside flip line…), and an interview about his journey from Brazil to Norway to The Triangle™ over on Grey. Could have probably dug a bit deeper on the song, but oh well.

Know a few people who would die happy after skating this spot for an hour.

Me, you, and Cyrus Bennett have the same favorite skateboarder. Hint: he skates more than everyone, for longer than everyone, is older than everyone, and is more oblivious to what’s going on in skateboarding that everyone.

Jake Johnson gave Dickies a tour of his hometown D.I.Y. spot in State College, PA + skated his backyard mini-ramp with a handful of special guests.

Traffic scanned a 2005 TWS article about a D.I.Y. tour they did in Hartford, Albany, Rochester, Akron and Pittsburgh back in the early days of the company, with words from Ricky, and a bunch of rad photos. Never knew they were the architects behind that still-running Albany bank-to-ledge. #respect.

Spot Updates: Not the most oft-skated spot these days (unless you’re winding up there after getting kicked out of Bigscreen or something), but there’s not much to skate at Penn Plaza anymore, as the building put astro turf all over the upper portion of the spot.

Double Back on the Double Back

Diego and Tyshawn are leading everyone else in 2018 for tricks that leave phone screens and comment sections, and actually enter conversation between IRL humans.

Fwiw, 411 creator, Josh Friedberg, said that the Penny section was one of his favorites ever from the video mag’s run.

Bobby Worrest 777LSD Remix

When Bobby’s QS part dropped back in 2014, there was a background current about how “Bobby and Migos doesn’t make sense” (no doubt from guys who pester teenagers’ montage music selections on YouTube.) Somehow, he exists in people’s minds as this Kool Keith evangelist, due to his obvs great Right Foot Forward song.

The joke is on them though — because when I originally asked him about what song he wanted to skate to for it, he told me Wiz Khalifa’s then-buzzing, “We Dem Boyz.”

No, this remix isn’t to retreat back on him skating to 2014’s Song of the Summer contender. We even resisted the more literal route of editing it to something from 2017’s most underrated album, which just so happens to be from the DMV area (kinda ABD, tho we used the most obvious song off it.) Nah, this one is for another lesser known side of Bob. We dedicate this QS remix to Bobby Worrest: Ladies Man ♥

Our bud and Dime logistics extraordinaire, Guillaume Thibault, has a new 20-minute video entitled Parkour. If Dime videos are Baker vids, this is like…a Shake Junt video…or something? It’s a good time. And the Swiss O.G. 2000 boys linked up with Clubgear for a ten-minute video entitled Cialis. Stoked for the comments to get flooded with spam links for dick pills. Perfect.

Others are less enthused about Canada Day being around the corner. “Absolutely No Dime Clothing. Shit is ugly AF.”

House of Vans is slated to close after this coming summer :(

I think this new “Summer Trip to New York” iPhone edit is actually the first footage of someone skating the back hubba on the Amsterdam side of Lincoln Center? Or no? The runway is shit but surprised more people haven’t gone for it.

Worried about everyone’s mental health if and when another store opens up at the liquor store bump in Bed-Stuy. Sleep Skateboards has a new, mostly-NY montage.

End of the Year Fall Off List

Been slow around here, as recent injuries have taken their toll on office morale, but December is always busy. QS holiday 2017 tees are now available at Supreme Soho and Brooklyn. Arriving at other shops this week and next. Online soonish?

Probably one of the most fried concepts for a recent skate video, but in the best way possible — Kyota Umeki filmed an entire skate video on a Nintendo 3DS with a fisheye taped to it. 90% of it is filmed within like, five blocks of the L.E.S. Park. I also have “Groove Is In The Heart” stuck in my head now, great.

The crew behind Newark’s Shorty’s spot (R.I.P.) was allotted a piece of land by the city, in which they have begun to build a bowl. They’re looking to raise money for supplies, concrete trucks, etc. to speed up the project. If you’ve been to Shorty’s even once, please donate whatever you can so they can continue forward with the Shorty’s spirit ♥

People are insane. They don’t wanna see you shining on a nollie crook in Tribeca.
