Alexey Krasniy does a bunch of wild shit in New York — from Blubba to random rocks on the street to a nose manny at Police Plaza that’s a shoo-in for Top 10 this week — in his closing part in the Piss Drunx video. (Yes, it’s a brand now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) Is that the first time somebody did the Wade Fyfe slam hubba in Barcelona?

The results are in and we now have a snapshot of skateboarding in 2025, as voted on by QS readers. Unlike past years, when there was sometimes only a few vote split between first and second place, ties, etc., for the most part, everything cleanly landed where it landed this year.
And it should be said that this listing was voted on between 10:30 A.M. on Monday, December 8th until 5:30 P.M. on Friday, December 12th. Chris Joslin’s “G-Ma” part, which would earn him Thrasher‘s S.O.T.Y. trophy, was released around noon on Wednesday the 10th. Zion Wright’s part was released the morning of Thursday, the 11th. A similar thing happened the year that Miles Silvas won S.O.T.Y. But one hill we will gladly die on is that nobody wants to talk about year-end recap stuff in the following year. We will extend eligibility to any parts that came out starting December 8th into next year’s ranking.

One of the biggest cliches is discussing just *how much* skate content there is. Everything is available at once, and keeping track of it for one viewing — let alone multiple — is hard.
Last year’sdecade poll aimed at a snapshot of skateboarding in a ten-year span, as it grew exponentially into the content waterfall it is today. It was very fun to do, but perhaps easier in that with ten years to reflect on, it was apparent what loomed large over tricks, styles and trends. We brought it back for a single year to try and form a canon at a time when so much of the conversation is geared around things moving too fast for a consensus.
Yes, you’ll notice an inherent recency bias here, and year-end content is obviously an imperfect art — the poll closed on December 4, which is before John’s Vid and Third Shift came out online, two projects that definitely would’ve ranked if eligible. (Honestly, John’s Vid might’ve ended up being #1 or #2 given the readership of this website.)
So here it is. No commentary for the full-lengths this round. Full-length skate videos capture a zeitgeist, and sometimes, it takes a while for those effects to truly make themselves known.

It got uploaded just after last weeks links post went live, but Goodily is a new full-length from Diego Garcia featuring parts from Solomon, Yaje, Pat Hoblin, Jason Byoun, and basically all the people who skate more than you do.
“Banister” is the new ten-minute mini vid from Gang Corp, to which they already uploaded a a half-hour raw files clip of outtakes and kick-outs.
QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Porzingis is obviously close (no playoffs…yet, maybe 2025), but Tyson Chandler is still the best Knicks player of the current millennium. Happy to see him up to his old tricks in a warmer climate.
