Esteemed QS readers will be familiar with the Gang International think-tank from their deep coverage of the Pulaski scene, and troves of footage from office favorites like Bobby Worrest and Kevin Augustine.

Jeremy Knott and Gang’s latest video finds them sixty minutes north of D.C. — in Baltimore, digging for more crustaceous, under-seen spots than the wide granite cathedrals offered by the nation’s capital. (Anybody pulling up to Baltimore looking for a nice lil’ ledge with two ends on smooth grounds is liable to find themselves a bit disappointed.)

If you ask me, shit just hasn’t been the same since Home Box Office brought us all together every Sunday night at 9 P.M.

Finding spots in movies and television has long been a quantum-level subdivision of skate nerdery, from Breakfast at Tiffany’s (that black marble ledge on the east side of Manhattan) to The Godfather (Courthouse Drop) to Michael Mann’s Heat (DTLA Arco Rails area.) On an October 10, 2006 episode of The Wire, viewers caught a glimpse of a location known as Marlo’s hangout (Season 4, Episode 5) — a bleak concrete expanse with an array of banks, ledges, and bank-to ledges. It seemed insane that A) such a place existed, and B) one of the flagship programs of the “Golden Age of Television” used it as a key location.

As the legend of The Wire grew, so did that of the “The Wire Spot,” popping up in a slew of 2010s videos – primarily of the east coast variety. It seemed dope that an infamous locale in Wire lore became a destination spot, not only for locals, but for visiting pros.

Great skate cities alert 🚨 — “CAN’T HAVE SHIT” is an 11-minute Detroit edit from Cooper Vosburg, and Baltimore Pleasure is a 20-minute Baltimore scene video by Ryan Schroeder with a fire Spencer Brown part at the end. Always great seeing footage from both of these places.

Gang International — the D.C-based outfit responsible for 2019’s “Facades” and a lot of your favorite Bobby Worrest footage over the years — has a new one out today. Light on the Bobby clips this round, but heavy on pretty much everything else. The video weaves from Pulaski, through Baltimore’s notoriously unforgiving crust, and back to Pulaski for ender parts from Mikey Payne and Kevin Augustine (that switch flip back tail made me rethink what I already knew about his stance for a few seconds…)
