Party Month

Holiday QS stuff arriving at U.S. shops now. Online soon. Europe + Asia + Canada should be arriving this week. Much love for the support as always 🎁

The quality + quantity of footage Antonio got in one day of skating downtown L.A. for an Insta clip promoting a Dunk collab does a decent job of capturing his magic. Kinda felt like a more lo-def edition of those Numbers edits they were dropping in the late 2010s.

Our friends at Classic Grip dropped a new edit: “Basgrain 700k.”

Thrasher posted their photo feature from Supreme’s Play Dead video online for all those who didn’t catch the print issue, with captions from Ben Kadow. “This concludes bump-to-can skating.”

Pro skater / hockey player / tennis player / jump roper Gino Iannucci is the latest subject of Thrasher‘s “Out There” series.

Pat Hoblin dropped a part with Place filmed in New York over the course of five days, full of cutty spots and cramped spaces.

Seven Steps To Tompkins

Jenkem has an interview with Trung Nguyen, the architect behind last year’s most talked-about trick, and Big Parody.

“We are sad. People can say we are overreacting and that this spot will likely be liberated, but there is a gross feeling seeing the city prioritize something like this.” Village Psychic made a tribute to their local curb on the occasion of… the city knobbing a curb — appropriately titled, “Sadman Plaza.”

The QS office favorite Rios Crew out of Budapest just dropped a new video, entitled Uccsó. They’re as atmospheric and third-eye-open with the spots as ever, but it’s the filming that truly took on a new dimension in this one.

Thankful For ‘Tone — Antonio Durao Raw Clips From the Hardbody Video

If you’re around skateboarding long enough, there is a big chance that your favorites become not the skaters you’ve studied in videos from afar, but those you have gotten the chance to witness in real life. Over all the years of doing QS, we have been blessed with chances to see a lot of incredible skating from a wide array of greats, yet watching Antonio remains a singular experience.

E.J. put together all of Antonio’s raw clips from The Hardbody Video, and it is perhaps the closest depiction of what watching him skate in real life is — at least as close as a mediated video could get.

Like Glowstick, We Crack Then Shine

Antonio tomfoolery in the QS Dunk that is coming out pretty soon :) Photo by Jason Lecras

From a skate house above a chicken shop by Southbank to a GQ feature: Fashion-writer-who-actually-skates-and-can-write, Noah Johnson, profiled the minds behind Palace for a feature in Famous Men’s Magazine™.

Heckride interviewed Johnny and Mitchell’s brother, Andrew. Very excited for Coots’ video ♥

There is no shortage of crust evangelists working in New York skateboarding today, but every once in a while, there’s a part so endlessly dedicated to spots with eight things wrong with them that you need to stop and give #respect. Charlie Cassidy’s 4 x 4 part is one of those, and Vague mag has the part + an interview with him about it. The cast of In Crust We Trust would be proud :)
