Village Psychic has the web premiere of Kevin Barthold’s part in A 20 Of Regular, which covers every genre of New Jersey crust imaginable.
Some spots only last a day. Neil Herrick talks through three photos and a couple of trick battles he had from 5Boro’s 5Ball video with Skate Jawn.
“In the 80s in the New York, Halloween was a license for craziness. It was beyond egging cars. It was a lot of violence…” TWS spoke with O.G. Bruno Musso (if you have the Full Bleed book, that’s Musso on the cover) about the 80s and early 90s days of the Brooklyn Banks.
Naquan posted up his recap from the first Back to the Banks jam since the 2000s.
“There’s a reason for some of the puzzling design decisions, and it’s a dumb one: Once workers had completed the bridge repairs, they were contractually obliged to return the areas below to precisely the same condition they found them in. They didn’t have to respray the graffiti, I guess, but if some long-ago functionary decided a bench should face a wall, then the new bench was going to face the same wall.” New York Mag‘s Curbed publication wrote about the Banks and touched on why they restored the small Banks that way …for now ;)
/*end Banks-related links (there’ll probably be a lot this summer…)
Blaine Williams and his crew had a quick new city edit flash across the subscription feed. Noseslide gap noseslide at the Utica Avenue stop was fire.
Epicly Later’d mastermind Patrick O’Dell is the latest guest on The Bunt.
During a summer when we have opted to kick the can into the fall on any Euro travel, Boil the Ocean began a Euro af rendition of its summertime mixtape series.
The grey Citibikes are officially down to 15mph from 18mph, but perhaps more importantly, a lot of friends have been getting tickets summonses for running lights, having headphones on (?!), etc. Most of them have been getting dismissed, but still a waste of a morning having to go to court for it. Be careful out there this summer.
ICYMI: Atlantic Drift is back, this time in Kazakhstan. [If you want some supplementary #tbt viewing from the same region of the world largely unknown to the skate-video-viewing public, peep 2013’s Meet The Stans, a journey through Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan starring Jimmy McDonald, Kenny Reed, Walker Ryan and others.]
Quote of the Week 🗣
Observant Gentleman: “She dated one of the most prolific east coast skateboarder of all-time!”
Perry Goodman: “She dated Keith Denley?!”
Shame this never got a proper release. The Roberts of the world deserve it.
