Pretty much all of our collective experiences of Copenhagen are within the bipolar high that is the Scandinavian Summer. For a bit of a reality check of what it’s like on the opposite side of that seasonal coin, our friends at Dancer dropped an “Endless Winter” montage featuring Hjalte, David Stenström + others. Still seems pretty fun, tbh.

Some nice bits of New York footage in the Charlotte-based AVENUE video parts that have been dropping across a few outlets: Vague has Jermaine Whittaker’s part, which includes a 10/10 Three Up Three Down performance, and Skate Jawn has Ethan Kaplan’s part, which includes a NBD (?) ollie at the white building plaza across from Pyramid Ledges.

Orchard Skateshop Capo, Armin Bachman, has a new mini part out for Pepper Griptape. That bank to curb ender in Barcelona really came out of nowhere 💥

The Duplex crew has a new montage video series on Thrasher, entitled “Low Rent.”

Alex Greenberg hit New York’s first-ever concrete park with Oski back when it was a bit warmer, and came back with an enjoyable lil’ edit. Salute to the yellow shirt.

It’s wild that this thing reached a level of being skated-enough to where the city actually went out of their way to knob the ledge. This photo certainly does the spot the most justice out of all the coverage you’ve seen on it • 📸 Mike Heikkila on the photo, Thomas Dritsas on the board.

Enjoyed “Whistle” a lot — a Washington D.C. video by Eddie Gutierrez that at once feels nostalgic while firmly of the moment. A lot of unfamiliar faces to those outside the D.C. scene, though it’s hard not to wish you knew who some of them were (to the chagrin of the position that homie videos should have titles.) Skate Jawn has an interview with Eddie about the video’s creation as well.

Like anybody with Josh Kalis’ “big ledges, little ledges”-monologue from The Sixth Sense ingrained in their brain, it’s always been a pleasure to hear skateboarders talk about the places that hold the most real estate in their hearts. Our “Favorite Spot” series is an expansion on that short bit of skate video ephemera into a retrospective of people whose careers have grown tethered to a certain spot. You may recall that Gilbert Crockett was the inaugural edition back in December.

We have long touted the virtues of Copenhagen, and at a time when European travel isn’t exactly possible, it made sense to vicariously re-experience the city’s most famous (yet deceptively difficult) spot via its modern-day ambassador, Hjalte Halberg.

What an amazing idea for a feature… “‘Perfect Days’ will interview familiar faces in the Boston and Northeast scene, and pose them with the simple question: what was one of your favorite sessions ever?” The Orchard Skate Shop blog is following the footsteps of the Slam City Skates blog in creating good, old-fashioned web content outside the Insta-sphere. Kevin Coakley is the inaugural edition. (Fwiw, all-time favorite skate day around here is probably Yume Farm with *literally everybody* in fall 2018 ♥)
